Are Bono, Coman and Andomio villages somewhere in northern Italy. A friend
said her grandparents spoke of them and they were from a village near the
Austrian border. The spelling may be wrong since she is quoting from memory.

There is a beautiful town called Cormons in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

That could be the "Coman" town. It is only about 80 km from the Austrian
border, and only about 10 km from the Slovenian border. Very far north in
Italy.

this is the complete list of all villages (in Italian"comuni") that
exist in Italy.
this is the complete list of the hamlet (in italian "frazioni" or very
little village that belong to a village "comune")
I have found 3 "frazioni" in the province of Trento (region Trentino
Alto Adige) that is near to the Austrian border: ANDOGNO (comune di
Dorsino -Trento), COMANO (comune di Lomaso- Trento), PIEVE DI BONO
(comune Pieve di Bono- Trento). I hope that these names are correct.

(Sardinia), to the west of Italy.
It finds two Coman locations, one near Milano (Milan) up north, and one a
little lower.
It finds two Andomio locations, one north west of Milano, and one down near
Napoli (Naples).
You may have the spelling wrong on Bono. There may be a similarly spelled
town up north near the Austrian border as the towns of Coman and Andomio
near Napoli.l There is a Bondo, northeast of Milano.
What are the surnames of the grandparents?
