Great place to visit. Lots to see. If you speak Italian, sit down
with some of the old timers in the local sidewalk cafes or in the
bars.

Driving is TREACHEROUS! The locals will make a four lane highway out
of two lanes. One way streets might have some fool going the wrong
way as a short cut to where he is going, but after all, he is going
only "one way". Buses between cities is a great way to travel. The
buses are clean and comfortable and make pit stops for snacks and
bathroom visits.

You must PAY to use bathrooms in Sicily and Italy, but not very much.
For this, you get very clean toilets, so it is very much worth the
small fee. Just keep some small coins available for bathroom use.

Have a nice time.

Hi! I am Maria Luisa, I'm Italian and I have a house in Sicily. I know
Sicily very well. It's not true that you have to pay to use bathroom.
In Autogrill (where the bus do a stop to drink, to eat or to buy
something) you can use bathroom freely, if you want you can give a
little offer, but it is not an obligation. In every bar in all Italy
you can use the bathroom freely, of course it's better if you have a
consummation. The only bathroom where you have to pay are those public
where you have tu put a coin to open the door. Anyway, If you need any
information about Taormina - Giardini Naxos
(Sicily),Faenza,Ravenna,Bologna (Emilia Romagna), I am here for you.
Have a nice time and I hope to see you in Italy! Maria Luisa

Hopefully most of possible storms from North Africa will
past by your visit.

If you plan on some genealogical research it might help
to brush up on your clerical latin a little.

In any case you will enjoy your visit for sure.
