Johnny...
I'm hoping I might find some direction in finding information about the
Cirrito family name in Italy. Can someone help? Please reply to this group,
as the email address for posting I use is not valid.

listings. Do you have any idea what town your ancestors came from in Italy?
And when they came to the USA? You can look for them on the Ellis Island

You can go to the following site, and see where the distribution of the name
is in Italy, as well as in the USA. Put Cirrito in the Cognome: block, and
click on the arrow.

For the USA, just click on the Cerca anche USA block after you get the Italy
results.

Good luck on your search.

(Rest of EXCELLENT suggestions snipped)

This was a great exchange of comments and suggestions to the original
question. I plan on using it in the next meeting of our genealogical group
here in our senior community, in order to explain the importance of using
genealogy news groups in our genealogy searches. There is so much
information available from helpful people in the genealogy world, and many
times we just don't ask in the right place.

Thanks all for the help. I'm just now getting started on this genealogical
thing. Installed Family Tree Maker Version 7, that I bought in 1999 as I
have lots of info in bits and pieces from the maternal side of my family and
had to get it organized somewhere. During the summer I was able to meet my
biological father for the first time in our lives, and found out I am part
of a HUGE family on that side! I'm sure you all will be hearing from me
again. By the way Joe, I'm in TX too.
