"Cini"-can you help?

I am an English lad with Italian ancestry. I have recently begun to
take an active interest in discovering my roots. I have this
information (so far) to work with:
1. My surname is "Cini".
2. My relatives moved to Malta about 4 generations ago from me.
3. They came from either Venice or Florence.
4. They started a hotel in Valetta, Malta and (as far as I can tell)
cut all family ties with Italy.
5. My grandfather moved to England following WW2.
If anyone can help me in tracing any relatives I may have in Italy, or
just give me some general tips on how to go about it, I would be
immensely grateful.

listings in Firenze (Florence), and 33 listings of Cini in Venezia (Venice).

Malta phone directory at
has quite a few listings for Cini. There are only 6 in Valetta, The
directory also picks up names containing Cini, such as Bencini and
Piccinino. Were there any relatives left there in Malta, especially
Valetta?
