Information on Smaldone family from town of Ruoti/Potenza

I woujld be pleased to have any contact with individuals who have or
have had the same last name, Smaldone.
My grandfther, Gerardo Smaldone, left Italy in the 1890s and arrive in
NY city. He married Rose or Rosina Tolve and they had 8 children 6 of
which survived; one was my father Gennaro (John) Paul who was born in
1908.

Also, if anyone has been to Ruoti can you let me know if there are any
hotels or pensions in the town. I may be going there next spring to do
some family research.

Also, if there are any families that have the name Spadola, my mom's
maiden name or Tangredi my maternal grandmother's maiden name I'd
appreciate any info. you may have.

Ruoti is quite a small village. It is near Avigliano. You might go to this
site, and send an email requesting accommodation information.

It is possible you might have to lodge in Potenza, which is only about 12
miles away. Do you plan on renting an auto? You can look up the towns
auto, be sure and pick up a good Italy road map.

There are 406 Spadola, and 11 of them are in Ruoti.

There are 223 Tangredi, but none of them are in Ruoti.
