rosie...
I'm new to the list and researching the village of Bradbourne in Derbyshire
and surrounds. I am trying to put together information regarding the
BRADBOURNE/BRADBURN family and wonder if anyone can help me please, I have
accessed the ancestry.com and LDS sites but still have many large holes in
my research at the moment!

Best Wishes

Dear Rosie,

if you're in that area you presumably know the two Bradbourne tombs in
Ashbourne- one with very badly restored noses. I have a couple of
descents from the family- here is what I have gathered, although I
haven't made a detailed study:

1.Gerard de Bradburne- 2.Richard- 3.Sir Roger,m.Philippa- 4.William-
5.Roger Bradbourne of Hough in Hulland, MP Derbs 1397, 1404, d.1406/7
m.Lucy
6.Henry 1452 m.Margaret dau Sir John Bagot of Blithfield, Staffs
7.John d.c.1488 m.Anne dau Sir Richard Vernon of Haddon, Derbs
8.Humphrey d.1520 m. Margaret dau Sir Ralph Longford of Longford, Derbs
9.John d.1523 m.Isabel dau.& coheiress Richard Cotton of Ridware,
Staffs
10.Sir Humphrey d.1581 m.Elizabeth dau Sir William Turvill of Newhall,
Leics

that's as far as I go- I think there's a pedigree in the Derbyshire
visitations published in a Victorian periodical- somebody here will no
doubt provide the exact reference if I don't dig it out. But maybe you
know all this already!
