Guzman family

I would like to know if the spanish dukes of Medina Sidonia (of the Guzman
family) and the dukes of Medina de la Torres and marqueses of Toral
(Ramirez Guzman) are two branches of the same family Guzman; if they are,
what is the relationship between them?

My data is incomplete, and most likely wrong in the early generations.
The earliest agnatic ancestor for the Medina Sidonia line is Pedro
Rodriguez de GUZMÁN +1195 married to Urraca Diaz Cameros. For the
Toral line I have Rui Nunez de GUZMÁN, one of whose sons is a Pedro
Ruiz de GUZMÁN married to a Mafalda, he too +1195. Is it a coincidence
or are they the same person, married to different wives?

These would be the same person. As to their wives, one or the other (or
both) is probably a late invention.
