pretty simple, that's what I would like to find out.
=?iso-8859-1?q?Marcus_Str=F6mberg?=...
|
It can be translated in at least two ways, each one of the translations
having it's own meaning in swedish:
unglued...
|
Note bene, there is of course the word smelt in English, as in "He was
a smelter at the smeltery"
|
Smälta metall (verb)
holman...
|
(att) smälta metall = (to) melt metal
Det är svårt att smälta metall. = "It is difficult to melt metal."
unglued...
Att smälta metall är svårt. = "Melting metal/To melt metal is difficult."
=?iso-8859-1?q?Marcus_Str=F6mberg?=...
|
Exactly! Remember that the infinitive marker isn't mandatory in (written)
swedish. That's why an english expression like "melting metal" without any
context can be translated into swedish in different ways, each translation
having it's own meaning.

Smältande metall (noun)
=?iso-8859-1?q?Marcus_Str=F6mberg?=...

That is, an adjective (or adverb, depending of what comes next) plus a
noun.
|
holman...
|
smältande metall = melting metal = metal that is melting
Tanken är full av smältande metall. = "The tank is full of melting
metal/metal that is melting."
