Anne Leaver...
I am a Huggins and resident in England.

I learnt that DREAMER WALLACE was the mother of my paternal grandfather. His
name was
HASTINGS CHARLES HUGGINS, formerly of Longstone House Charlestown, Nevis.
He was
born: 10 . 4.1857 & died 2.3. 1923.

Anne Leaver...
Consequently, does anyone know of the whereabouts of a slave register for
Nevis? and also how does one go about searching it and getting documents

myths...
Search the catalogue for Nevis in Series T71.

T 71/364 for 1817
T 71/365 for 1822
T 71/366 for 1825
T 71/367 for 1828
T 71/368 for 1831
T 71/369 for 1834

It is not impossible that the mother of someone born 1857 was not
herself born in 1834.

I think, to look at the Slave Registers in the UK, you will have to go
to Kew (or pay a researcher).

The Jamaican 1817 Slave Registers I have seen are arranged by
plantation with lists of slaves on each plantation. So you may have
to read through from the start until and unless you come across the
name in which you are interested.

form it?
Also, I wonder if a search of the Nevisian land records would be productive?
I don't know exactly in which archives these land records for Nevis reside.
Is there anybody with first hand experience of getting documents from that
source? Or any other archives which contain Land records for the island of
Nevis?

In anticipation, thanks a million!
