I don't know if any of you watch the program. They are planning a
series about Seniors. Back in August, I decided to teach a class on
Internet Dating for Seniors for the local Senior Center. A local
reporter wrote about it, and it went out on a wire service and was
reproduced in newspapers across the country.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I got a call from ABC news asking if I
was going to teach another class on Internet Dating. It happened that
I had scheduled to teach one at another Senior Center with my BF, Tom.
They asked if they could come and observe. Turned out they flew people
from Washington, DC and New York City. I recognized the reporter,
Vicki Mabrey, who used to be on Sixty Minutes. They taped the class
for two hours and then spent an hour interviewing Tom and I.
It will be on Nightline the second week in November, although I don't
know which date yet. I couldn't be more surprised at this development
in my life.

When you find out, please post it here.....
When a guy is married to the prettiest girl in Texas, he doesn't
need
to know a lot about intenet dating, but I will admit to a curiousity of
how people do it and the problems they can have.......
I'd also like to see your picture and how you relate to
your class........ just curiousity...
I suppose I'll have to watch it without saying anyting to
Joanie ( grin )......
But, please, let us know how this progresses.....

Apparently, the story will be on tomorrow night unless we get bumped by
more important news. According to the blurb, it looks like it will be
more about someone who has written a book rather than our class.

Congrats! Next thing we know is you'll be out on YouTube.

Lee, that is what my son said. The fact that it will be on national TV
didn't impress him, but the idea that it might be on YouTube did. LOL
I will let everyone know when I have a date. I had no idea someone
could record it and put it in a news group. I have no idea if I will
want anyone to see it. It was the first time that Tom and I had done a
class together and we had no idea this would come about. He was so
nervous before that he said "Never again". But it went well, and he
would like to teach the class again, so we probably will if there is
enough interest.

Great, Connie. I'll set my recorder to automatically record
Nightline. This is exciting!
