Geez, those Japanese people are a whole lot smarter than we are,
they'll take our money but not our people,
they'll put their factories here to funnel more money to Japan, but don't
think about putting an American company in Japan,
how long before the rest of the world owns us, if they don't already

Ownership of land is very transitory. Remember when Japanese were
buying up properties in Hawaii and California, and even the Pebble
Beach Golf Course? When their own economy went south, they had to sell
these properties at a loss.
Who bought them back. U.S. interests.

"Japan and visas
A job can play a big, favorable role in the Japanese government's decision
in allowing a foreigner to stay in the country, Mwongo said.
You can't just decide you want to stay; Japan requires that you have a
reason, she said.
Marriage to a Japanese, an employable skill, or current employment with an
on- or off-base company are valid reasons for staying, she said.
She advises people to visit the Japanese Embassy or the U.S. Consulate for
up-to-date information on local immigration and visa laws. A representative
from the Consulate office is also available at the pre-retirement seminars,
she said.
Another key requirement for staying is you must have a local sponsor, Mwongo
said. Although the obvious choice is the local spouse, many have acquired a
sponsor through companies that hire, she said."
