Rumpelstiltskin...
Walked to my car, with the intention of putting the locking gas cap
back on, since gas prices are so high now that people might start
siphoning cars again.

Looked in the trunk, couldn't find the locking gas cap. Decided
it must be in the bagful of apparatus I took out of the trunk a couple
of years ago.

Walked back home, found the bag of car apparatus under a bunch
of other bags in my bag-closet, retrieved the locking gas cap. Piled
the bags up again. Walked back to the car.

Opened the gascap chamber, saw and then remembered that the
non-locking gas cap has an attachment that holds the cap in place
when it's unscrewed for pumping gas, which is neat, except that
particular gas cap doesn't lock, and the gas cap that does lock
doesn't fit that attachment.

Tried to unscrew the attachment, using a key since I didn't have a
Philips screwdriver on me, or any other screwdriver. That didn't
work.

Walked back home, located a Philips screwdriver that looked
about the right size, went back to the car. It worked, so I managed
to get the locking gascap installed.

Then I remembered I had seemed to run out of windshield wiper
fluid last night. Got the car hood up, checked, yep, I was about out.

Walked back to the house, pulled a crushed-up empty 2-liter diet
soda bottle out of the trash, blew it back into shape more or less,
then filled it with water and a little dishwashing detergent.

Took it back to the car, filled up the windshield wiper
compartment, got into the car, ready to leave.

Noticed it was nearly 2:00 PM. Since today is Friday, if I leave
now, I'll never find a parking place when I come back. Decided I'd
had enough activity for one day. Started to walk home, then
noticed a local girl and her dog that I'd chatted with yesterday.
Chatted some more, then finished walking back, fired up the
computer, typed this junk.

Now it's time for a nap, then Lehrer's Newshour.

I was talking to a retired guy at the same coffee shop where the
girl was yesterday, who said he had a problem filling in the hours
since he'd retired. I don't know what he's talking about. There
never seems enough time for me to get everything done.
