Yes, dear friends, today is Veterans Day. The men and women that served
did so with some suffering. Even without combat, military duty is no
cakewalk.

So reply with a "Here Sir!" if you are one so we can pay homage and
honor your service to your country.

How about the spouses of veterans. I went to Alaska with my spouse in
1955. I endured as much hardship as he did.

Last but not least, I hope. My late wife was with me in Japan while I was in
and out of Korea almost every day while the war was going on, and spent almost
four years in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (in the Azores) while I was
flying Rescue there. She did indeed put up with hardships trying to keep me
happy and doing my job properly; come to think of it, she also put up with me,
which was hardship enough location notwithstanding. Wives certainly do deserve
recognition because they make their contribution and don't even get paid for the
the pleasure.
