Partisanship aside. the more I read about the guy, the more I like the guy.

Just remember this, Jerry.
The people that you admire the most in life are the one's you know the least
about.
That's my "not famous yet" quote.

I dunno. I admire my wife a whole lot, and I think I know her better than
anyone else

I mean people that you are not married to.
Jerry Okamura...

Well, from what I understand, there are a whole lot of people who hate their
wives

Don't forget that Kennedy was behind the Bay of Pigs and introduced us
to a country called Vietnam. And when it came to an appreciation of
the ladies, I understand he was more active than even The Slick One. I
understand he had twins at his beck and call. On the plus side, he did
a good job with the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was sufficiently
conservative by today's standards that the "progressives" in this
group would be very unhappy with him.

Probably
The thing that you ignore is that the "unofficial" deal was that
we could strut on the stage and declare how forceful we were and
the Soviets would pull their missiles.
And the US would pull the Jupiter missiles which merely obsolete
short range birds from Turkey. Located right near the border
with the Soviet Union and much closer than the 90 miles to Key
West.
We pull back and the Soviets pull back -- it was the type of
deal they were always willing to negotiate.

Would they have done that without the threat?

"Liberals believe everything written in books. Books are them and
without the books they are helpless and weaponless."
Do I detect a double standard?
