Jerry Okamura...
As I listen to the debate about what to do about the illegal immigration
problem, it seems to me a basic question is, should the government always
give us what we think we want. I think the answer is NO, they should not.

Jerry Okamura...
But they do pay...don't know the relevance of the 7% number...

jimstevens...
And part of the Senate fight was ammendment to deny any refunds as
most don't make enough so they would probably manage to get a refund
under current rules. Multiply that by a few years and they can take a
vacation and pay all the other charges from Feds.

They should give us what we think we want, when what we want is the right
thing to do.

Wayne Lundberg...
The trouble with all this illegal immigration BS is that neither the media
nor the Washington nor the majority of the public have a clue. From living
with Mexicans most of my life I can honestly say that the vast majority of
Mexicans coming to the US are not in search of citizenship! They want to
make some money, go home, get married, open a business. They use their work
in the US to create their nest-egg. They don't want to become Americans and
for the most part pay taxes and SS they will never get.

jimstevens...
They don't pay taxes. They claim a dozen dependents so have nothing
deducted from their wages. The lie that they pay taxes is told and
needs to be challenged.

Jerry Okamura...
In which case they should not receive the benefits should they?

Jerry Okamura...
Which means the real holder of that number benefits, or if there is no one
associated wtih that number the Social Security just got a windfall?

Jerry Okamura...
If more than one person can collect using the same Social Security Number,
that means that whether you are in this country legally or illegally, the
same scheme can to perpetrated ont he Social Security System, which means
the people we have who manage that system are not doign the job we expect
them to do.
