Harry Thompson...
My wife sent off for a German recipe book, "The Taste of Germany" produced
by the German Agricultural Marketing Board. It arrived yesterday.

Believe it or not, it has a recipe for Sauerkraut Jalapeno Poppers.

Good grief! What is this world coming to?

One thing for sure, Sauerkraut Jalapeno Poppers is not Oma's Spaetzle.

Rita...
Must have originated in San Diego, not Germany. They seem to put
jalapenos in everything here. I like good Mexican, but enough
already.

Harry Thompson...
Apparently you have never been to New Braunfels, Texas and had the
Jalapeno Jelly at the Smokehouse or the poppers at the Gristmill in
Clear Springs.

In Germany we often made stuffed paprikaschoten and überbackene
Chilischoten.

Here's a recipe, in German.

You need to get out more.

Thanks for the URL. I've passed it on to the appropriate authority. :-)

Rumpelstiltskin...
I didn't know there was a food called "poppers", but I found
a URL for Cheese Jalapeņo Poppers:

It looks like junk :-(

George Z. Bush...
First, I thought they were talking about popovers, but turns out that it's some
other form of junk food/snacks.

But, ach du lieber, why not? Guten tag!
