Much truth there. The reason so many "illegals" are illegal centers on Demo
votes.

We've always imported Mexican labor but until Clinton came along we gave them
"green cards" and let most in legally. This provided some, albiet less than
perfect, control over the numbers. Generations of Mexican and other hispanic
workers legally entered every year, worked a few months, then went home to live
with their families, planning return again the next year. These legals had a
vested interest in the system and helped keep illegals (competition) out. It
was working OK for everybody - not perfect but OK.

Then, on the other side of the world, Les Aspin screwed the pooch and gave us
what became "Blackhawk Down. Clinton tried to keep this blunder out of the press
but a GOP congressman (named Dornan?) blew the whistle on them and there was
hell to pay. Aspin had to resign in disgrace.

To get even, the Clintonistas diverted every resource INS had into getting
enough Mexicans naturalized to defeat Dornan next term. And it worked! But
meanwhile, the 1000s of Mexicans who'd been coming in legally every year could
no longer get papered because there simply weren't enough INS agents left to do
the job. So they became illegals. And once they were all "illegals" then the
whole system broke down. Many stayed rather than go home for most the year, and
even imported their families to live on welfare. That's the situation today. It
doesn't benefit us and it doesn't benefit them.

So, what we need is a plan to get the old system working again, not one to keep
these "guests" in the country.

This is really absurd. Reagan is the one that gave them amnesty.
There's enough blame to go around but it really rests mostly on the
shoulders of the employers who don't want congress to upset the barrel
full of lo cost labor.
