Kiwi1951...
Do you have room for a kiwi on your group?

Aries...

Pam the goose...

Hello Gillian, welcome to Upsland :-))

Aries...
Big welcome from me too Gillian, my name is Val and I presently live on
the south coast of England but moving to Devon in the near future to be
nearer our daughter who is married to a farmer :) I have 5 grandchildren
and another on the way:)

Kiwi1951...
*Upsland* puzzled me for a while - then I worked it out! Not in my dotage
yet....

I'm the one that's licensed to say/do anything - I just blame it on my
bleeding brain :-)

Kiwi1951...
Sounds fair enough to me - thanks for the welcome :-)

It's 8.30 in the evening here - Sunday that is.

Ergo...
Of course we do, welcome pull up a bean bag and sit down. If you find a
confused looking one in the corner, that'll be me. We are a very friendly
bunch here, why some just natter on for hours about anything or nothing,
some of us can talk for hours about nothing without repeating ourselves. If
one day you have nothing to do, just come on in and tell us about it.
Nothing to it really!

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°7 +...
Hi Eric. Nice to hear from you. How's tricks? Sounds like you're
progressing well.

Frogman...
Welcome to the group Gillian from the resident Frog :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°7 +...
A lot of the birds in here are retired too. :)

Kiwi1951...
Thank you. I wonder, are you a prince in disguise?

Frogman...
I couldn't possibly comment :-)

Tickettyboo...
Course we do, there's room for everyone in here!

Foxy at w*rk...
lol He's certainly a charmer Gillian

Frogman...
Well thank you young Lady :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°7 +...
I think it'll need a kiss from you to find out Gillian. :)

Kiwi1951...
I'll leave that to one of the bolder critters on the group....
As you probably know, the kiwi is a very shy and retiring bird..... ;-)

MCC...
You wouldn't want to kiss him to find out

Welcome to ups, would be nice if you could shove a bit of that sunshine
down the modem, its badly needed here :-)

Kiwi1951...
Thank you. I'm afraid you will have to make do with warm thoughts..... :-)
We heard a lot about the drought conditions in Britain during your last
summer. I hope the parts affected have since recovered.

BunnyHare...
Course there's room, Gillian. Welcome

Old Grizzly...
Well said Gillian LOL

I see you have been given the URL for the SilverSurfers page and you will be
able to read about us (or some of us) on there
It really is a friendly group. I am sure you will be happy here

Kiwi1951...
Thank you Barb :-)

JoeH...
).

Welcome from me too Gillian. I'm from Newcatle upon Tyne in the North of
England and have a nephew who lives near Auckland. If I ever visit him I'll
pop round for a cup of tea if that's OK with you. ;-)

I'm sure you'll enjoy your "stay" in UPS.

Tyke...
Lots of room :-)

Hi Gillian and welcome !

I'm in Adelaide - formerly of Leeds,UK.

Hope you have fun here .

Kiwi1951...
Hi Tyke. Looks like fun already :-)

Faolan...
Aye... Ye can find out more about ourselves here:

Pull up a chair an' help yersel' to tea and coffee, or even a dram or
two :) It gets lively in here!

Kiwi1951...
Well, I'll stick with the coffee right now - it's morning here! ;-)

Kiwi1951...
Sounds fine by me! The motorway between Auckland and Hamilton is being
improved all the time.... ;-)

Ta for the web link. I'll explore that thoroughly later on.

Rabbit...
Welcome to UPS Gillian. You just need to be a little insane to post in here
and if you aren't ATM you soon will be as mad as the rest, except me of
course, I'm sane :-)

Kiwi1951...
LOL. Thank you, Sandra. "Sane Sandra" has a nice ring to it :-)

Kiwi1951...
I was born and raised in a small town in Taranaki, came to Hamilton, central
North Island, to live after I married.... Have been to Wellington area
several times.

And may I say how true indeed are the lines following your name.

MCC...
Welcome Gillian :-)

I'm Mike, originally from Orkney, but now living in retirement in Cornwall
in southwest England.

I never had the opportunity to visit NZ during my time in the Royal Navy,
which is a shame, because I have more relations out there than I do in the
UK :-)

If you ever come across anyone with the surname Wards be kind to them
because they are relations of mine!

Kiwi1951...
LOL. Well it's not so long ago that it seemed everyone in NZ knew someone
who knew someone else who knew
you - do I make myself clear? :-))
Now with 4 million pop and multi-cultural immigration, it's a bit less
likely..... but it's surprising what can happen sometimes.

Smokey...
Hi Gillian, nice to meet you. My friend and her family have just moved to
Rotorua, she loves NZ, I hope to visit them there some time

I live in the North Island of New Zealand. Hubby and I are retirees, we have
two adult sons, each making his own way in the world now (no grandchildren..

Splodge...
Of course we have room for a Kiwi.

Welcome Gillian. (Same name as my sister)

I have friends in Albany, Auckland, and a cousin in Mangonui, Doubtless Bay.

Pull up a chair and get comfy. Half of us are mad, but I'm not saying which
half lol. I live in Aldershot, am retired, and am in love with my cat,
currently curled up in a cardboard box smaller than she is:))

Kiwi1951...
Ah, I'm a cat person, too. We have two old cats.

Stay with us and we can rule the world

Kiwi1951...
I'd much rather just put me feet up and read a good book..... ;-)

Troy's Human...
Hello Gillian - do join us :-)

A *very* good friend of mine went off to NZ in October. His wife is a Kiwi,
he'd just packed up work so they decided to emigrate. Wish I could do the
same. They've got a house in Feilding (North Island) - do you know it ? I
speak to him most evenings on Skype - they seem to be settling in but tell
me the weather (summer) is awful at the moment :-)

Kiwi1951...
Yes, I know of Feilding - *think* I've been there, on the way to Wellington
once (I am in Hamilton).
We had a rum December, but it's warming up nicely now. Hope your friend
decides it's a good place to be.

I spent two years in the UK on a working holiday in the early seventies
(going back a bit now) and have always thought I'd like to return. Maybe one
day :-)

I enjoy gardening and reading, and lately have been putting together a
photo-journal of my ancestors - all British/Irish ;-)

I haven't had to do the genealogical research - others in my family have
done that.

We're in summer now of course. I'm looking forward to a bit of gardening
later today (it is around 8.40 am here right now, we're in our "summer time"
which we call Daylight Saving).

Anita...
Welcome, Gillian - nice to see you in here, hope you enjoy the group and

Bigbazza...
Hi, RGill...See you made it here...Welcome .. I didn't see this intro of
yours earlier when I was looking at one of my posts.. (The one on the love
story of two birds..)

We have one other thing in common as well as living 'Down-under' as the
Yanks would say ..We both have all of our ancestors coming from England
and Ireland.. My English side is 3/4 of them and the Irish side 1/4 of
them,,The earliest were from England , ranging from 1809 -1840.. The Irish
contingent was from 1850 (Tipperary)..

You will enjoy this group of folks..They are very caring (and forgiving as
well .)

Foxy at w*rk...
Hello and welcome Gillian.

Kiwi1951...
Thank you Jen :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°7 +...
Here's a warm welcome from me Gillian. I live in Sheffield - South Yorkshire
in little old England. Sorry I'm late in here and missed you earlier.

Kiwi1951...
Pleased to meet you, Flying Nun :-)
I read your bio, so I now know why you are called that....

Old Grizzly...
Hiya Gillian

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°7 +...
So, unlike many before, Gillian ain't gonna get my gender wrong. :)

Nice to see you. In your summertime what are the tempuratures?
I have a particular soft spot for North Island as i was nursed by a
girl from ( if i can spell it LOL) Pahiatua. so i always have a
spiritual connection there at least ;-)

Kiwi1951...
Top marks for the spelling :-)
Where I live, in the Waikato area, our temps in summer range from 18 to 28
Celsius. Other places reach the thirties quite often.
The thing that knocks me out is the high humidity in our area.

Len aka Old Grizzly

Are you? Grizzly, that is.... ?

Gillian

Old Grizzly...
i notice you didnt question the Old bit LOL of course i am Grizzly ;-)
(i have to say that LOL )

biffo...
Welcome Gillian it will be nice to have a Kiwi on board, seeing that I love
you Kiwi fruits,, ;-))

Kiwi1951...
Ta Biffo, have you tried the golden-fleshed variety of kiwifruit? Sweeter
and milder than the green-fleshed, with a smooth brown skin.

biffo...
On your recommendation *G* I shall keep my eye's open for them at the
supermarket, cos I do love them ;-))

Kiwi1951...
Do that... they'll probably be marketed as "Zespri Gold".

decide to stay:) I am in London with 1 boy and 1 girl and with 3 grand

Kiwi1951...
Thank you, I have a feeling I will be sticking around....... :-)
