Werll, each Skype Name has its *own* List of Contacts associated
with it...
So you can Log in with a particular Skype User Name & have the
Contacts that were Stored for *that* UserNMame available.
|
again as they are the only two addies I remembered.

That's fine Jackie !! after we tried to get on and you went I got on and it
was fine , don't trust it at all ;-))))

pmj...

I had you Listed in my Skype Contacts as (both)...
jackie5556
& also...
jackie69108767
(Notice the additional "67" at the end of that)?
the "jackie5556" shows up in My Skype Contacts List as:
"Offline (last seen 15/01/2006 15:26:18)
I've now Added this latest Skype Name of yours (jackie691087)
to my Skype Contact List .
It said when I looked at the User Profile (to check that it was you),
that "Additional Information about the Contact cannot be retrieved
because the contact has not been Online for a long time"
& the same thing with "jackie69108767"
But the Profile Info for "jackie5556" is showing up OK.
Why not just stick with that Skype User Name?

I keep getting a message it does not recognize my password and to send for a
new one which they send by e-mail then when I put that in none of my
pmj...
|
Oh!
:-(
Well - this latest Skype User Name of yours (jackie691087)
shows up OK now - it shows in my Skype Contacts & the User Profile
that you have Set up shows "15 Contact(s)" - but it doesn't have
the other Info (Gender, Language & Location) that you have in your
"jackie5556" User Profile (which shows with "8 Contact(s)")
I'm *still* finding out how all this Skype Contacts stuff works!
There seems to be a fair bit involved with it all.

I am sticking with the jackie691087 now as it seems o.k. I had to use a
pmj...
password they gave me!
pmj...
|
Yes, but you can change that PassWord, if you want, by Logging in
to your Account on the Skype WebSite
& going to the "Change PassWord" page
|
I don't know how it all went wrong but it is sorted now, so you can let me
know on their when you are ready for Netmeeting!!!
pmj...
|
Yep!!!
pmj...
I will.
I don't s'pose you're around at the mo?
So we will nip in the Bikesheds somewhen else.

No way !! but I know somebody who will - that is why I suggested netmeeting

LOL!
:-)
pmj...
|
LOL!!!
Yes, I was a bit (well actually a *lot*!) concerned about that!!!
:-(
Cos when we started, Jackie did at least have a *working* WiFi
Network (Internet Connection)...
(albeit one that was totally, completely & utterly, Unsecured from
outside Access & also UnEncrypted).
& when we had tried to get it working properly (Secured & Encrypted),
it then didn't work (well, it didn't Connect to the Internet, via
the WiFi Router, using her Laptop with the WiFi Connection).
The Desktop PC Connection through the Router, to the Internet was
fine though)

pmj...
|
Ah!
Thanks very much!
:-)

Well I dunno if Jackie has Sent you a Cheque yet, or not...
But I just Sent you my Credit Card Number.
:-)
Will that be OK?
Thanks again for your help.

You won't catch me watching stuff like Football on the Telly -
when there's *far* more interesting stuff to do! -Like sorting out
the Encryption & Security Settings on a WiFi Router Connection!
:-)
We just spent an interesting time, in the BikeSheds - using
M$ NetMeeting, Setting the various Security & Encryption Options
on Jackie's BT Voyager WiFi Router thingy up...
We've got the PassWord on the Router changed OK, (for the Access
to the Admin Pages).
& we Set the WiFi Encryption to use 128Bit WEP (it doesn't support
the more Secure WPA)...
& we Set the WiFi Configuration Utility on the WiFi Card on her Laptop
to also use 128Bit WEP (with the same PassCode, as specified in the
Router), but (at the mo) there seems to be a slight prob in getting
it to actually Connect up properly to the Router.
:-(
The Router is Online OK, through the ADSL Phone Line Connection
& the Desktop PC Connects up to it OK (using an Ethernet Cable)
& gets assigned a proper IP Address, using DHCP, but for some reason,
at the mo, it's not Assigning a proper IP Address to the WiFi
Connection on the Laptop.
:-(
We'll have to have a think about it & have another go tomorrow.
