For those who like coffee but not caffeine, then Nescafé have recently
introduced a decaf version of AltaRica. I drink the usual A/R a lot, but
tried the decaf today - can't tell any difference in taste and flavour.

All very interesting but,
quote "eight or more cups of coffee a day while pregnant may double the
risk of losing the baby" end quote, It ain't gonna happen
quote " it examined the effects of drinking three to six cups of black
decaffeinated and caffeinated coffee daily." end quote
I never drink that little so the effects mentioned hardly relate to me :-)

And there was I under the impression that caffeine was partially responsible
for producing high blood pressure.

I still can't understand the attraction of coffee without caffeine ;)

It's the caffeine that keeps *you* going, isn't it, Ponder?
Just wait till you're old(er!) and start getting the results
of a lifetime of caffeine, you'll wish you'd had the
strength to give it up years ago;)

I have one, maybe two cups in a day. More than that and I start to feel a
bit funny ;)
|
I was lucky - bleeding brain, no taste, onto decaff coffee
with no problems! But now I'm really worried about trying it
with caffeine again. So much so that wherever we go there's
a pot of decaff goes with me, just in case!

It must be like having a shower without water, all of this De stuff and Lo

Some of us can't drink any other type of coffee.
You get a bit sick of weak tea.

But it's not really coffee. It might be *called* coffee but without
caffeine it's just coffee substitute ;)

Well around 60% of the population over 60 have diverticular disease to some
extent, but are symptomless. I wasn't aware that caffeine could
aggravate the problem but I'm going to give decaf a trial run. As I usually
have 5 or 6 mugs of coffee per day I should notice it I would think.

he!he! If I drink one cup of ordinary coffee - either weak or strong- I have
dire results in about 15 minutes!!!

I can't drink alcohol, fruit juice, or tea. So I drink either water of
coffee. So as I don't OD on the caffeine I switch to decafe in the evenings

That kinda makes sense. I don't drink coffee within 5 hours of the time I
expect to go to bed :)
