Thought I'd spend a few minutes in here earlier just before the Newcastle
United match started on Channel 5.
Sat down - logged on - then the ceiling lamp went out. No clicks, bangs
or flashes - just went out.
No problem, just change the bulb - Yeah right!
Got a chair - stood on it and removed the shade - weighs about 180 gram.
Took bulb in right hand, lamp holder in left, and was about to press up
and twist the bulb to remove it from the holder.

Certainly looks as though someone is out to get you too FN, but you have had
3 things now so you should be o.k.
|
No need - the bulb just fell away into my hand together with the metal
retaining ring which locates the pins of the bayonet cap into the holder.
I only fitted the holder last year and run a 100 Watt bulb with a fully open
topped shade to give lots of ventilation and prevent the holder getting too
hot.
Well I wasn't going to fiddle in the dingy light to remove the holder -
leave it 'till morning when it's light. I'll use the halogen desk lamp I
have in here.
This desk lamp has a miniature low voltage halogen bulb in it so is powered
by a transformer attached to the mains plug (similar to Val's router's one).
The current from the transformer runs along the 1/8 th inch diameter
cantilever rods which have 3 hinges (metal sliding on metal) 180° movement
in each to allow you to adjust the position the lamp.
I adjusted the position to where I wanted it - the lamp went out. So I had
to unplug it take it downstairs, dismantle it, use switch cleaner on the
sliding hinges, put it back together - then hey presto all back w*rking OK.
Now what's the third thing? I think I'm off to bed now, hopefully where
it's gonna be safe (I hope I don't regret saying that)

Sorry, I had to laugh when I read all that. Hopefully you'll get it all
sorted today.
Is there any rule that says things happen in threes - but not necessarily on
the same day lol
Take care today FN, cos you never know......

Try the Yellow Pages for an Exorcist in your area. Mind you Poltergeists
generally manifest around people at puberty, is there something you aren't
