I love that. Haven't seen it for a while so we've all got lazy.

I have to agree. Oversnipping can be as bad as adding "lol, I agree!" to the
bottom of a 5000 line pmj post.
|
Another thing we're getting lazy about is the GMT.
As a "Good Morning Thread" it was designed so we all got to "sign in" so it
was known we were OK. Bearing in mind a lot of us ancient (and some less
ancient!) ones live alone and so we could lie for a long time before anyone
realised there was something wrong.
The idea was that every one who signs in to UPS has given their phone number
to at least one person and that person would use the number if a sign in
didn't occur. That's why we put in LOA threads:)
It would be nice if we could get back to no conversations in that GMT so we
can easily follow who's here and who's not.
If you want to reply to something in that GMT then call it by a different
subject. If we turn it into another conversational thread it defeats the
object of it being called GMT:)

I did not realise the GMT was a `sign in` I assumed it was just a `start to
the morning`, not everyone replies to the GMT
so it is not really a check that everyone is o.k!

And who wants to be normal

I did not realise that we had to 'sign' in either - I am not always

Nor me, I'm often not online til later on. I've only just started
reading some of today's posts and it's nearly tomorrow already!
I had no idea there were rules about signing in either, cos no-one said
and AFAICR it wasn't mentioned on the website. Oh 'eck, what other
transgressions have I been guilty of? ;-)

around on here in the mornings lol
Ali...
Oh I do hate all these 'do this' and 'don't do that' - never used to be
like this in the old days !

That's how it was here when Upsland first opened!
We seemed to get used to Sandra signing in after noon and you later still
and me sometimes not at all!
But the idea was to ensure we knew that people *on their own* were OK.
Can't remember who started it but I liked the idea, made us into a
community.

There!
Pam...
See?
I said there were always people who object to any form of suggestion
that people ought to "conform" to any sort of "Rules & Regulations"!
Even if those "Rules" (or "Conventions") that you suggest *are* actually
very worth while & in the best interests of the "Community" as a whole,
as well as all the individuals who make up that "Community".

Well some of us just aren't around in the mornings, or the afternoons either,
come to that; and the ones who are not living alone have help much closer to
home.
