Frogman...
We have a shop in Scarborough which has only been open for about 6
weeks then a week ago all the windows were plastered with *closing
down* signs which seemed very strange considering they spent a fortune
refurbishing, oh and during the last week they have been re-stocking a
good bit,

Today this sign appeared in the window too,
So when exactly are they closing down or is this just another marketing

Ali...
Check the small print; you may find the closing down refers to *another*
branch (which explains the re-stocking). I've seen that ploy several
times.

Frogman...
There is no small print on the notices, The favourite one here at the
moment which a few shops have used is *CLOSING DOWN* in massive letters
and then in tiny print "for refurbishment"

Or they just leased the place from 7 weeks ago to Chr***mas. Seems less
likely if they've been spending money on refurbishing.

Frogman...
I think that would be doubtful due to the level of fittings etc they
put in.

Frogman...
Well really I knew the answer to that one ;-)

ploy?

Wally...
The sign does say "temp. staff for Ch****mas

Frogman...
Well yes but they don't normally say they are closing down that far in
advance, Oh and goodnight I must go now.
