I took Penelope to bed with me last night and she fell asleep on the
duvet. In the morning she was between the sheets. I don't know if the
bangs scared her and she was trying to hide from them or if she was
cold.

Just had this emailed to me re: Pets on Bonfire night - from Purina,
Bonfire night advice from the PURINA PetCare Team
We all know how alarming pets can find Bonfire Night, but there are a number
of ways we can help. Bring your pets indoors before it gets dark, especially
on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th November. Dogs and cats that get

Our old cat Jasper died at new Year, and at Easter we found a year old
brother and sister we have called George and Mildred. I have no idea what
they thought last year of fireworks - they were house cats then, living with
someone who got sick and couldn't keep them.
We let them out, but shut them in at night. Needless to say, they snooze on
a bed all day, and want out in the late afternoon and evening, which was
fine in summer. They'd be got in before bedtime. As it happens the last
two weeks they have tended to reappear about 6 or half past, and I have been
locking the catflap at that time, in case of bangs. What's the betting they
will be stopouts tonight, tomorrow, or Sunday though? :-)

That would jbex with one of my dogs (he hates them) but the other one
would be howling to get out because he loves watching them, it's the
same with Thunder and Lightning he will play in the pouring rain just
to watch (strange dog).

Wouldn't have jbexed for my last dog, he had to be knocked out with doggie
Valium for weeks beforehand. No TV or radio can mask those bangs
particularly to an animal who's hearing is usually more acute than a human,
after all many pets can hear Funder before we do.
