Gizmo and Fudge ask if they can come round and play in your garden? :)

More than a few there mate

You must use a lot of birdseed, Uker! (g)
It gets expensive. I used to do it, but found
that the birdseed was attracting mice.
Is that a Scottish accent I heard?

uker...
No I live in Wakefield West Yorkshire

As for Birdseed, I'm like a Scot, when it comes to spending money LOL. The
bird’s just stale bread I'm afraid. & it's never been in there long enough
to attract mice. They eat it all up the same day I put it out. But I have
found in the colder months of the year, they love what I call dripping.
Mucky fat, as some know it. Each week after Sunday lunch, the fat that has
cooked the joint gets put out, after its gone solid BTW. & it's this that
brings loads of birds. But I’ve tried this in the summer months & they don’t
touch it.

Not a Scot, but like a Scot! :)
Just stale bread brings the birds around, eh? :)
My aunt used to give her stale bread to the birds too.
I remember her tossing it out from off her porch.
I know that birds like suet in the winter, but it
always seemed too messy to put in the yard,
especially in warm weather when it gets greasy.
Seems like you have a good system going there, Uker,
doing it in the winter only when the fat is solid.
Interesting that they don't want it in the summer.
I guess they don't need it then because they have
the summer insects instead.
