Testing out my very old Logitech webcam - only a cheapie when it was bought
at that must have been at least 7 or 8 years ago
Good for a laugh if nothing else LOL
What I want to know is, does it run for you and what prog does it open in?
Old Grizzly...
|
I could tell it was an old webcam as it was all in Sepia LOL
Nah Val, i opened it in Windows Media Player and it was ok but a bit
blurry.
Aries...
|
I don't mind it being a bit blurry LOL but about time I treated myself to a
new one I guess Len. LOL
Old Grizzly...

Liked the little snarl. ;)
Opened up in RealOne Player, but that would be my settings, 'cos I use
RealOne a fair bit on the vTuner.
Aries...
|
gosh that was a quick reply - so it didn't take too long to download then,
goody :) thanks for testing it :)

Realplayer shows your face for a split second then throws up this message..
"Realplayer is unable to access this clip. It may be in use by another
application, or the file location specified may be incorrect or out of date.
Bad data in AVIsource file"
Aries...
|
Oh - I wonder why that is :(
aa...
|
Dunno and like Sandra, I got sound only in WMP. :-(
Aries...
|
What options do you have enabled in WMP ? Maybe that is the reason for not
seeing the video. It's a very bad video anyway but it should show up.
aa...
|
Default, so all.
Aries...
|
It plays for me both in WMP and Quicktime, I cannot understand why you are
not seeing it - problemo :(
|
|
Rabbit...
|
But the question is why does it play OK in Media Player after being saved
and *open with* used with the same settings.
Aries...
|
This is what I need to find out :(
Ali...
|
Because one is a plug in, and the other a stand-alone player, which just
happen to have the same name? I'll leave pmj to enumerate the media players
that come as standard with various releases of Windows.
BTW I have the reverse prob - I only see the pictures, unless I load the
downloaded file.
When I first replied, I didn't realise there was supposed to be sound.

What is a VLC media player ?
Aries...
|
thank you, downloading now :)

Ali...
|
Yes, Windows Media Player.
If you're having probs the double dot may be relevant.
Aries...
|
I personally am not having probs, just wondered if it could be seen in
different formats :)
Jackie...
|
I just get sound in Windows Media Player Val
Aries...
|
Sandra and MCC had the same problem :(
Bram...

and me.
Aries...

Amazingly, yes, it did run and it opened in Windows Media Player.
<<<< Must get the default changed

MCC...
|
I got sound only in Firefox, which uses QuickTime for .avi files.
Saved it and it played OK in Windows Media Player.
Aries...
Is there any reason why there should be *two* stops between NoSpecs and
avi?
Aries...
|
Just the way I saved the file :)
|
|
Rabbit...
|
When I clicked on the link it opened Media Player and I just got sound.
After reading MCC's post I saved it and opened it with both Media Player and
Real and got the movie and sound.
Aries...
|
Thanks Sandra, I will pass that message on to my friend who has been having
probs seeing my video messages
Aries...
|
I've logged on via my laptop and can't see it myself now grrrrrrrh :(
