So i totally agree its wrong to park on the pavement, but if its in the

AFAIK the offence is driving onto a pavement *not* parking on it. The
Highway Code is just that, a code and not a legal document.

Yes, you can be 'done' for it, Len, as you are causing an obstruction to
other road users - that includes pedestrians.

Here in Bristol the council make a big play of getting access to
buildings for disabled people but because of parking on the pavements
they have not got access to the pavements. Do they blow their Wheelchair
horns? or walk up to the house and ask them to move the car or perhaps
shout or phone them up? i do get so angry on this one :-) i am certain
their insurance on the cars doesnt include driving on the pavements

Well they seem to be at it all over. There was a case last week when a
policecar parked on double yellow lines outside a café whilst the two
police - persons went for a coffee. I know I wouldn't get away with it
though.

Remember, it is legat to park in many places you're not normally allowed, if
it's on the direction of a police officer in uniform. It's amazing how many
police cars get parked on the direction of a police officer in uniform. ;^)
