Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
for sometime. My broadband has just been disconnected at the local

pmj...
Great!
:-)

So that means we won't see any more Posts whingeing & moaning about
the poor Broadband Connection/Performance/DisConnections & Synch Speed
& Download Speed etc, from you for a while then!
:-)

MCC...
We wish! We wish!

(BTW - That was *s'posed* to be a (pmj-type) Joke, actually)
:-)

MCC...
Yeah, right oh!

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
You can definitely go off people. :(

exchange. The BT guys don't know who ordered the job, but I have now been

Rabbit...
Told you to pay the bill :-)

BB less for an hour. If Plusnet were going to LLU me to the Tiscali

pmj...
Oh no!!!

How on *earth* are you managing, just using a Dial Up Connection
(the same sort we all used to have to use, for many years)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
With great difficulty. :(

pmj...
Is that what is happening at your Exchange, for/with your Connection
then?
Can't you find out for definite, from someone, somewhere?
& don't you have any choice or say in the matter of whether or not
you use an LLU (Local Loop Unbundled) Connection?

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I spent about ½ hour talking to the engineer at the exchangre - he 'phoned
me back when they'd reatored my landline. He said they had Tiscali
equipment upstairs, but as far as he could tell there wasn't another job
there to get me connected to it though.

Rabbit...
How are the withdrawal symptoms ? Actually that might be a serious question,
maybe I should be prepared for my cease and reprovide to not go as well as
it should given the problems Plusnet has just now :-(

equipment I would have thought it would have been back by now - but it

pmj...
What makes you think that?

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I seem to remember somewhere that Plusnet had said thayt the changeover
caused minimal interruption.

Surely, there's some work involved in switching over the Connection(s)?
& also, there's the *Administrative* stuff to be sorted out, between
the (at least) 3 Firms involved - BT, the ISP & the supplier of the LLU

ain't. ;( Byeeee!!

pmj...
Byeee!
:-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Well I'm back now on PN's free emergency dial up number, which will be with
me 'til they gat the bb back. PN assure me that they have not requested BT

Rabbit...
< Hint> On dial up you might appreciate snipping :-)

to disconnect my BB or LLU me, so who has requested the dirty deed be done?

Rabbit...
Is it only your BB ? They haven't disconnected the phone have they ?

Of course they can't simply 'phone BT and request that I be reconnected.
They have to politely inform BT that the customer - ie ME - cannot synch,
and BT will action that within 24 hours. Right. I bet they go back to PN
and say there has been a request to disconnect the customer - you must have
done it. Another 24 houurs and PN will retort *Oh No We Didn't* , it must
have been you. Another 24 hours - BT reply *Oh Yes You Did - it wasn't
us* - ad infinitum. Well it is almost the pantomime season.

Anita...
Happened to me with Lineone when I was on dialup - I got a bill from BT
and my use of the internet was charged as if I was not on dialup.
I phoned them and was informed by BT that they had been told by Tiscali
to disconnect. I then phoned Tiscali and was told that as far as they
were concerned I was still connected to dial up.
So I decided there and then to go over to broadband - which means BT
does not bill me for internet.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Very wise.

I did get a partial refund from BT but they declined to admit
responsibility.

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
How did you manage that then?

Anita...
I think I got on their nerves somewhat and kept asking for somebody in
charge - in the end I got what they called a goodwill payment, which was
about 60% of what it cost me.
Tiscali could not do anything cos as far as they were concerned they had
never cancelled my account with BT and said it was between me and BT - I
guess there was just no answer to that:(

So, FN I reckon it was BT that did it to you :(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I wonder if I'll ever find out?

Anita...
I doubt it - cos I certainly did not do so

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
But since PN assure me that they haven't requested that my BB be cut off, I
will issue some sort ot complaint procedure with BT. I'll keep you posted

Anita...
By the way I know of 7 other people on the net tonight who are
complaining they have terrible lag and keep getting cut off - all are on
plusnet - and from different parts of the country too.
Some of them have given up for the night, hoping it will improve
tomorrow

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Are they on broadband? If so, they're lucky. I'm on an ( albeit free) 56
K ( it's really only 50.6 K and actual download speed of 31.14 kbps
connection atm :( But I'm still paying for a broadband service. Double

Anita...
They are on broadband - but they are having a terrible job - the kag is

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
kag? What is that? 31K is bad enough. :(

Anita...
LAG !!!! was a typo lol

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
So what lag are you referring too?

Anita...
Lag is when you are waiting to connect to a site or whatever and it is
so slow that it can take 5 minutes to get on or it just refuses to
connect.

But not with all aspects of the web - weird but it is happening to them
and they have all given up for the night now !

It is the Tiscali server they are having problems connecting with - and
they are all on plusnet!

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Well I won't be getting that whilst my BB is disconnected I suppose.

Frogman...
Any news on your BB yet FN??

so bad

:(

as to any outcome.

Rabbit...
Ah, but which panto is Plusnet ??? :-)

JoeH...
Plus in Boots?

Rabbit...
I thought you would have opted out of LLU ?
