Aries...
We were invited to our daughter's in laws Ruby Wedding BBQ and Ram roast on
their farm over the weekend. Over 100 guests were invited and it was a

wonderfully relaxed and enjoyable party. The roasted lamb was tender and

Pam the goose...
How lovely, Val:)
There's nothing like a party in a field, I've been to many:)
Looks like it was a good time for all.
Welcome back:)

Aries...
Thanks Pam, nice to be back home but pretty tired so an early night for me
I think :D

delicious as were the BBQ'd burgers and sausages, breads and salads of
every kind, followed by bowls and bowls of strawberries, home made clotted
cream, home made gateaux, mouses, trifles etc etc. A truly memorable
affair.

The country and western singer was a great hit and the many children
enjoyed themselves as much as us adults did.

I took lots of photos, especially of our youngest granddaugher, and here
are just a few you may be interested to see I uploaded when we got back
home late this afternoon.

Grey_Wolf...
Aries had nice time in Devon
With lots of fried goodies to munch on.

A CW singer entertained
and no hearing was strained.

Aries photoed like mad
and not all came out bad
and was downloaded to you all
- have a look and have a ball.

Aries...
LOL, nice one Anders ;)

~~Linda~~...
Enjoyed looking at those Val. We went to a hog roast a while back and great
fun was had by all. I love outdoor 'parties', they always seem more
relaxed. Congrats to your daughters in laws on their Ruby Romp ;-)

Aries...
I agree with you, I much prefer outdoor parties to indoor ones. The
kiddies have plenty of room to run around without damaging anything and the
adults can sit and relax and really enjoy themselves. The music was great
too at this one - a real live country and western singer who had a great
voice and great wit LOL

~~Linda~~...
In general I'm not a great fan of country and western. Lol, I like a good
bit of LOUD guitar... think Gary Moore, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton... but
there is something about a party in a field that gets people dancing and

Anita...
Sounds as if you had a wonderful time, Val - I do like the photos a
beautiful baby and the cake looks good too :)

Aries...
It was quite a special time Anita, lots of lovely people to chat to and a
Country and Western singer too who had a fab voice :D

jigging to a bit of live country music ;-)

Aries...
It suited the occasion :)

Jackie...
Really beautiful pictures Val, Little Mary is really gorgeous a really happy
baby.
Congratulations to the happy couple too. The food sounds really good and
looks like a good time was had by all.

Rabbit...
Glad the weather was kind, it's not the kind of party which could easily be
moved indoors :-) Thanks for sharing your day.Lovely baby BTW.

Aries...
We were lucky with the weather but if push and come to shove it would have
been held in one of the barns, but much nice being outside :D

Foxy at w*rk...
Lovely pictures Val. The baby is a smasher, she looks so pleasent :-)

Aries...
Mary Jane is such a sweet and very happy child - smiles and gurgles lots
and lots. A real bundle of joy :)

Pity about the B&B

Aries...
I know - never again LOL

~~seadancer~~...
What B&B, Jen? I don't understand.

Foxy at w*rk...
Val posted about the Bed and Breakfast place she stayed in, it was a
bit.........................rural...................lol You should see her
post it was today Sea :-)

~~seadancer~~...
What a nice way to celebrate!
I had never heard the expression, "Ruby Wedding", so I
searched the web for and learned that it refers to a 40th Anniversary.
I haven't seen many photos of roasts like that.
Makes me feel sorry for the lamb, even though I love eating lamb. (g)
[I'm currently reading _Before You Know Kindness_ which is
about vegetarians. It raises 'unwelcome' awarenesses about
cruelty to animals. Makes it hard to eat veal too. (g)]

Aries...
We bred sheep for a time Sea but they were never ill treated, in fact they
had more medical attention and less suffering than most human beings. Life
of Riley LOL

Makes it hard to eat veal too. (g)]

We never eat veal - we do not like the way it is raised :(

The baby is so sweet! Wonderful photos!

Aries...
Thank you, she is really cute and such a contented and happy baby :D
