sam...
I used to do it regularly but other pressures didn't give me
the time eventually.

This week I bought some Dove's strong organic wholemeal flour
and a tub of Allinson's dried yeast, and had a go once again.
It took me most of the evening, and the result was not exactly
excellent - heavy, too moist, and collapsed in to middle, but it
filled the house with the smell of baking and the flavour was
without equal.
Pluss all those B vitamins !

Aries...
Have you thought about buying yourself a bread maker Sam ? I made my own
bread by hand for years but not these days. On the occasions I do bake my
own I use a breadmaker :D

Wally...
We make our own bread using a bread maker, excellent results

Also use it for mixing dough for making pizzas then add topping
and bake in the oven, mmmmmmm nice

Aries...
I've never used mine for pizza dough but I know I could. In the recipe
book that came with mine are some really interesting recipes. Must try em
some day :)

Splodge...
I would buy a breadmaker and make my own, if only it would automatically
slice it too:))

Tickettyboo...
Try an electric knife Splodge. No effort involved :-) ( and not so many

Splodge...
I'd never heard of any of those things for cutting bread. Stay tuned to this
space cos I might go on a shopping spree.
Thanks folks
Splodge

JoeH...
Or for £6 from Lakeland

JoeH...
or even on of these

Aries...
top one is what I have - it's good :)

Smokey...
One of my fav shopping places, great value, and excellent service

jackie...
I like Lakeland too, I love looking at their catalogues.

JoeH...
and lastly

MCC...
Are you on commission from Lakeland?

JoeH...
I wish, lol

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Just not got any footie to watch at the moment, have you Joe? ;)

JoeH...
Nope not yet :-(

I'm busy rebuilding a PC for a mate using a recovery disk and am having a

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
And posting too!! Now I didn't think our gender was supposed to be capable
of multitasking. Perhaps somebody has been misleading me. Now who can I
blame for that in this special week? ;)

Rabbit...
And I thought I was getting a day off :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Not a chance dear Bunny. :) No respite, well not until the England footie

Rabbit...
Thought not :-(

Rabbit...
And then ???? :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
We can have a re-think. Mind you I watched much of the Scoland match and to
give credit where credit's due, I reckon they played well. Unllike much
of the England garbage. :(

Rabbit...
From the press reports today I reckon Scotland won the World Cup yesterday

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Well it was such a shock all the press are in overdrive.

Rabbit...
They didn't have to fill so many column inches though, spoiled my breakfast

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Surely they don't force you Scots to actually read all the uninteresting
things in your newspapers?

Rabbit...
They just don't print the good stuff to read, they'll print that next week

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
But surely you didn't have toi read that footie garbage, or did you? :)

Rabbit...
You jest sir, you jest. It just meant there wasn't much left to read :-(

:-)

reading it did :-)

:-)

match starts. :)

few problems :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Which should have allowed you more time in here then. :)

Rabbit...
Except I've got too much other stuff to do just now :-(

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
So the footie reorts came to your aid then. So why were you complaining?
:)

Rabbit...
'Cos I wanted something more interesting to read with my breakfast :-P

crumbs either!)

I'm quite content with buying two Hovis wholemeal brown sliced loaves per
week. That way I'm happy and the local ducks get a fair bit of left overs

Aries...
We quite enjoy Burgen loaves espescially the one with seeds in it :)

at the weekend. :)
My DIL has got a plastic frame thing with slots, you put your loaf in
the frame and use the slots as a guide for the knife, perfect cut every
time.

JoeH...
Like one of these I guess

Tickettyboo...
yes, but greedyBoo likes doorstep slices :-)

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
But how do you manage to get that dainty little mouth round a doorstep
slice?
Or are Derbyshire doorsteps much smaller than those up 'ere?

Splodge

Aries...
That is one of the downers about any kind of home breadmaking but I solved
it by buying a special kind of serrated knife that has two blades, one for
cutting and one for selecting thickness - jbexs a treat :)

My arms and fingers were tired after all that kneading,
but I'll try again soon when perhaps it will turn out better.

Bon appetit !
