Since my reformat last week I have not been able to receive emails via OE
although they appear OK as webmail - I have checked my settings and even
sent myself a test email but nothing appears ? Any ideas ?

Hi Val - do you see any error messages? And is it just one account, or
several? My first guess would be a firewall problem, as I'm sure the
account details have been checked.

No error messages at all, just a quick check and nothing ! I'll check the
firewall tho:)

Might be worth checking the account "Properties" and that there is a tick
in "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising"

not a firewall problem, and it's on two accounts only at the moment - mine
and Tony's - still not jbexing :(

Val,
In OE for the Plusnet Account Make sure the box ( My server requires
authentication ) is *not* ticked, Plusnet dosen't need it.

It isn't ticked Terry but thanks for replying. I exited Windows Defender,
and also took off the Plusnet firewall I had ticked, and that seemed to
cure the problem - weird !

What AV are you using Val? AVG acts as a proxy, if yours does too then
check the settings there.
Another thing to check is the connections tab in the account properties.

I use Avast Boo, but the strange thing is I did receive a couple of emails
the other day but nothing since. I've checked with Plusnet's status page
and all appears OK in that department.

I'd be tempted to delete and recreate both non working accounts. I'll send
a test email to the +net account to see if you get it.
