Good morning one and all from a cloudy and breezy Cornwall. The forecast is
threatening us with rain later today - it is badly needed.

Morning! and a lovely one it is too :-) Sat out in the garden for my
morning cuppa(s) and its starting to warm up nicely now. lol its odd, but
I have started to feel chilly if it goes below about 24 degrees

It's grey here but quite nice and cool outside thanks to a little breeze,
unfortunately the coolness hasn't got indoors yet where it's still sticky
warm. The BYT is trying to do her jbex but there are quite a few GFTs about
which look as if they might contain the wet stuff, it could go either way
today, I favour the wet stuff, mind that'll make the grass grow and that's
one advantage of the recent dry spell, I didn't need to cut the grass so
often. I'll just settle for the breeze to turn around and get in my open
windows to make it more comfortable in here tonight.
Good morning one and all.

Morning Sandra:)
Rabbit...
Looks like you have the same as us in the way of weather. Walter was glowing
at 6.30 but now he's GFT covered and I wouldn't be surprised if it wetted us
here.
I'm so glad Ray bought me that new fan before the shops ran out. I'm still
sitting in line with it and feeling the benefit:)
Rabbit...
|
Yep I've still got the ceiling fans on, I'm hoping they blow the sticky air
out and let the cooler stuff in :-)
Pam the goose...
|
Mmmm, that's my intention, too:)
We left the fan going on the landing outside our bedroom door the other
night. By morning the bedroom door had shut. Seemed odd cos if it had moved
at all I would have expected it to open more.
Just shows what effect a movement of air can have.

Up to 78.8°F in my garden now.

I was going to say that the BYT had beaten the grey stuff but it's changed
since I read your post. However I've just been upstairs and the breeze is
now making inroads through the bedroom windows, it's so cool and comfortable
up there. Just hope it lasts till bedtime.

The rain has arrived but I don't think there will be very much of it.

Clouding over here now, so perhaps ours will be arriving soon.

Well they said it would be cooler in London today - is it?? Of course it
is not!
There is bright sunshine and there is a strong HOT breeze out there.
I f I had not experienced it I would never have believed we had all that
rain the other day.
Hope that the poorlies are gradually improving now,
Have a good day

Still warmand sticky, although if you step outside there is a cooling
breeze atm. 22.8°C (73°F) right now and still rising with BYT doing his
best to accelerate that. Rain forecast for this afternoon and through to
Wednesday with expected temperature falling below 20°C.

Good that your recovery continues. ;-)

I've still got a lot of posts to read but it is obvious that you have been
slacking during my absence so let's have you up and out and doing!

Nice to see you back and posting the GMT thread Mike. I've been away in
Devon for a couple of days for the wedding of one of my nephews. We have a
very nice time except for the hotel which was dire, and the weather which
was positively Wet Wet Wet !

Keep at it then oldchap. :)

Jackie has done a good job with the G.M.T. threads, ably assisted by Pam
and even Flying Nun and Boo managed one day each

Nice cool breeze today, so far. We went to Tesco's early this morning, Ted
was getting the eggs for me when he slipped on a broken egg
that was on the floor. I got staff straight away and one stood guard over
the broken egg while another took details of the accident. It took 20
minutes for somebody to come along and clean the floor!!!!Ted was shaken and
felt bruised all along his thigh. The Manager was called and it has all been
reported. Could have been very much worse if a `frail` person had slipped.
Rabbit...
|
Glad to hear it wasn't worse for Ted though it was bad enough. Did you even
get any kind of apology from the manager ? Did he suggest claiming for
distress/trauma or any future problems as a result of the fall? They do have
a *duty of care* and have insurance for such eventualities. At the very
least you are due something for the trauma even if it was *without
prejudice* your groceries for free.
Jackie...
|
The Manager did not suggest claiming for anything, he did apologize. An
accident form was filled in and they said we would hear from Head Office.
No mention of free shopping. It was more or less blamed on Customers for
Rabbit...
|
That's poor customer relations IMHO. Even a Tesco voucher would have been a
gesture of goodwill. I hope head office does better, a lot better.
|
Rabbit...
|
'Course he would but he does have a *duty of care* to make sure the store is
safe for the public.
|
dropping things!! Ted was well coated with Arnica when he got home!!!
Rabbit...
|
You should take photographs of the bruising just in case.
Jackie...
|
Perhaps I will Sandra - not sure where it is yet!!! I can then send it to
Tesco Head Office!

I would agree Sandra my DIL worked for Morrison, was a first aider also
union member,
when anything happened like that they were very good and DIL if she was
there made sure that
everything was put in order and nearly always got compensation of some sort
;-)))))

Sorry to hear that you weren't well, but it's good that
you're on the mend, Mike.
I can't believe that July is almost over. The summer is flying by.
I hope to get a few more swims in before the cold weather
descends upon us again. By the end of August, it starts
getting chilly here at Lake George, especially at night.
I dread the cold weather.
