The Pot Monsters have invaded, they are out to get you :-)
|
Over the past week a terracotta pot in our
garden has had the top nibbled away.
The only visitor to the garden that could
be capable of doing this is a squirrel.
There is no sign of the missing bits apart
from a few bits laying on the ground, the rest
of it has obviously been taken away.
Could a squirrel do this and why, would it have
a use for bits of terracotta ??

I don't see why a squirrel shouldn't tile its bathroom floor or kitchen
wall, it's probably a very house-proud squirrel :-)
|
Here are a couple of pics, the few fragments you
can see are all that is left.
Any of your thoughts would be welcome.

I suppose if you're really lucky it may be tiling the bunker for you?

Frost ? Terracotta pots do AFAIK absorb water and when it freezes it cracks
the terracotta. Maybe the other bits were smaller and got blown away in a
wind, maybe the squirrel thought they were something else and took them, but
I'm betting on frost doing the damage.

It does look like frost damage. Shows how tough the crocuses are...
