From some recent postings I suspect that there are a few upss people
who still have an interest in the music of their yoof....
Por Moi, Adult Orientated Rock would be my listening choice, although
I'm happy to listen to quite a wide range of '60's / '80's artists.
Anyone care to comment, etc?

As a 50's and 60's yoof a lot of the music of the time evokes memories
happy and sad. A lot of it was awful to my ears and still is to this day
and a lot I can listen to over and over.
But I do like a lot of today's music, not all of it, but like all the
decades before there is good and bad.
I can't say that I've ever gone for a particular genre of music I either
like it or hate it or I can take it or leave it.
Today, Groups such as Keane, ColdPlay, Maroon5 are singing fairly easy
listening stuff and Limp Bizkit did a beautiful rendition of the Who's
Behind Blue Eyes.
Then there is the soft punk group from Leeds the Kaiser Chiefs whose
music I find exciting, a sort of melodic rock.
Then there is the quirky folksy music of harp player Joanna Newsom who
sang the theme to one of the Orange adverts.
If you like music to thoroughly entertain try John Fogarty of Credance
Clearwater Revival fame. Some old and new.
If you look for it there has been good and bad across the whole 50+
years that I've been interested in music.

I don't think I have a favorite decade David I like 60's 70's and 80's even
some of the 90's and some of the new stuff. I like Hendrix when I am in the
mood

I like 60's/80's too, I also like some of the Country and Western music. I
can't stand present day `music`!!!

Agreed.
As far as "kiddie cars" are concerned, I get really grumpy with the
bass-heavy carp that they produce!
I prefer to listen to Clapton & Mark Knopfler, & have a newish respect
for the Quo, gbut I'm still an old folkie at heart.
Fond memories of SWMBO & myself being part of the regular audience for
Country meets Folk, when it was being recorded at Broadcasting House!
Many, many moons ago..........

With Country and Western you can hear what they are singing and the music is
`soothing`.

Erm.... Bowie was big for me i the 70's - still part of my history.
Listened to some early Roxy Music the other day - they were soooo good with
Brian Eno :-)
Soft spot for Supertramp as well - Crime of the Century has to one of my top
ten albums :)
Eclectic is my range now - Nine Inch Nail to Royksopp :-)
