Good Morning all. I'm up early cos I've got loads to do.
biggeordie...
Good morning....and to everyone else....
Rabbit...
Mild but starting to rain here in Suvernland but then it would since I
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
Not seen any of that here for a few days.
bought a heavy coat to keep the cold out :-)
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
My coat doesn't w*rk like that. Mine keeps the heat in. :)
Rabbit...
Please replace the UPS nit comb where it is usually kept :-)
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I will when you get the facts right. :)
Ali...
So you think coats don't keep cold out?
You are forgetting the effects of wind-chill.
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
As I understand it, cold, used as a noun, means an absence of heat and as
Ali...
And what does heat mean in this context?
The OED say cold as a noun is 'a) the prevalance of a low temperature,
esp. in the atmosphere; b) cold weather, a cold environment' and as an
adjective (as used in the definition of the noun) 'of or at a low, or
relatively low, temperature, esp. when compared with the human body.'
such does not exist. It's mostly used as an adjective to describe something
Ali...
Heat is only absent at absolute zero, which so far, does not exist; but
that makes defining cold as the absence of heat a pretty poor definition,
and not what most people mean by it.
Ali...
And coats keep out cold air.
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
That's exactly the point I was making. Coats do not keep out an entity
called (noun) cold, but keep out an entity described (adjective) as cold.
:)
Ali...
Which post did you make that point, 'cos I missed it?
The OED agrees with me that cold air can be called cold (noun).
Jim S...
Cling on to your adjectives as adverbs are in short supply.
that is not hot.
Good afternoon one and all.
BoyPete...
Well, it's dry in SOUTH Suvernland, like, over the river. Grey, dull.....a
Rabbit...
Oh I've been over the river on a reconnaissance mission but I think I'll
need a whole Tartan Army to edumacate the locals to life beyond the river
never mind the Watford Gap :-)
Rabbit...
It ended up the same here and chilly misty too.
bit misty.
Hey....great film....Play Misty for me :)
Rabbit...
Agreed it was a good scary movie.
Got a lot of driving to do later.
biggeordie...
Feet up for me today with one or two malts and beers.
Bram...
Did that yesterday. Opted for the odd port instead of the spirits though.
:-)
Hope all the unwellies aren't feeling too bad today.
biggeordie...
Ditto.
Have a nice day everyone.

Hi Everyone

Anita...
Dry here in north east corner of London too :)
briefly but has gone back to bed.
We have a quiet day here until this evening when some of the family will be
over for a games evening
~~Linda~~...
Morning Mr Bram :-) Take care out on those roads, hope there aren't too
many driving while still under the effects of yesterdays excesses :-(
Bram...
Good Morning to you too, Linda with the wobbly bits.
I had nothing to drink after 3.00pm yesterday so my wits are about me.
:-)
This not too welly isn't feeling 'as' bad at the moment, so am grateful for
Bram...
that.
All quiet here... am grateful for that too!
Enjoy your day with young Faust tomorrow!!
Bram...
I get him today. Wonder what 70s rock music delights he has to play in the
car for me today?

Back at you, Bram. May the *New Year*be the best yet
for you & your family.
Bet & John:

I haven't had my Christmas yet, Jackie. I have it when my son is here. That
way he gets two christmas dinners. One with his mam and one with me. :-)
Hopefully the roads will be quiet.
BoyPete...
Same situation here. The turkey smells smashing! I had a fry up for dinner
Bram...
We're having chicken. I like chicken and cook chicken
yesterday.
Just off to PC World to collect a 320Gb USB hard drive I ordered :)
Bram...
Ordered some bits and bats online this moring meself
Bram...
My first. His second. ;-)
People actually laughed when I told them I was having sarnies for dinner
yesterday.
Sarnies, tortillas and chilli dip.
;-)
Bram...
Yep. Does it really matter what day we celebrate..? Seems daft doing a Xmas
dinner just for me so I just postpone it two days. :-)
BoyPete...
My turkey was a bit tough, but the rest was great.
Enjoy your time with Faust :)

I brought mine forward one day and had my X**s roast on the 24th Bram. Of
course, it meant I had a sooper dooper bubble and squeak yesterday....life
gets tough, don't it?
Bram...
Nah. Just hope that you aren't bubbling squeaking all day
;-)
I'm going to make some mulled wine today so that will keep me busy
Hope everyone had a nice day yesterday, and the unwellies had a good day.
Bram...
No alchohol here till tonight I'm afraid.
