press her lifeline as she could not get up again. Her knees are bruised and

Hope not in here. But When I took Caitlin for a walk yesterday before she
became ill, I saw the man up the road fall over the hook up bit of his
concrete mixer. Asked if he was OK and he was. So perhaps that's the 3 rd

the wardens are going back to check on her.

Sorry to read this Shaz, glad she had the alarm they are a godsend.
Glad she is not badly hurt, her bruises will of course give her dome
discomfort :)

Oh dear, pleased there is nothing broken, but I imagine it gave her a big
fright ( and you too!) Just shows what a good idea sheltered housign is
though, nice to know that help is at hand if its needed.

Thanks Boo. yes sheltered housing is a good thing. They are just putting in
a shower for Mum as she can't get in the bath any more. So they are doing
their best to make it so she can stay in her own home.

I was just talking to my SIL on the phone - she is 83 and lives in
Norwich in a sheltered bungalow she has just been given a necklace to
wear for emergencies, she is pleased to have it because she said if she
fell somewhere away from the `pull cords` nobody would know.

times. Once when she could not make her knees straighten and got stuck on

What a scare for your mum.
Apparently this happens to quite a few elderly people.
It happened to my aunt and she couldn't reach the phone.
Eventually another elderly aunt found her and they had
to call the police to help her get up because both of them
were so weak and stiff. Getting older has it's downsides.
How old is your mum, Shaz?
