Updates problem

Well not exactly a problem, more or an annoyance. I keep getting that a
message that I have security updates that need to be downloaded, but this
particular message I've been getting for weeks now, so at one time I turned
off all security update messages.

This is the what I am talking about. I have supposedly downloaded the
updates mentioned umpteen time but I'm still informed the download hasn't
been successful. So what should I do next - any ideas ?

I had the same problem with the latest batch of updates - took about 4
attempts over a couple of days because the downloads kept failing/timing
out.

Have you got office 2003, Val? If not you do not need them anyway :)
If you do - go to your download icon in control panel and hit the
download button again.

Yes I do, but the point is Anita that it will not download and the security
update notice coming up again and again and again :(

Just a point but is your firewall blocking access to the site (you do
have a firewall I presume)

no because it downloads other updates OK, just not the ms office ones !

my office 2003 ones took longer to download than the others too, Val -
but I did get them eventually - just went back 3 times more till they
downloaded :)

I've just tried 3 more times, they will not install and I get the same
message.

I had to do that 2 days ago cos one did not install - it did when I went
for the download again.

Oh well ignore my last reply if that's the case, obviously you can get
to the site to download them.
