..... I want to buy a Flatbed Scanner, also a camera so that I can send
some photos, past and those I want to take. I already have a very
well-performing printer (Epson Stylus C84-Photo series), so I dont want *the
whole works*... The Computer is not a well-known one - it's e-machines 220,
designed for Windows XP- It was not expensive as some Pooters go. A local
Computer Technician shopped for it on my behalf and set it all up, two years
ago. He has gone out of the business now, and moved away. I have no
knowledge what to look for, what to pay (except it mustnt be very dear)
Cant get out to shops. Would really love to send some photos to the group.
Always enjoy seeing those pictures some of you have put on for us. .. Im a
complete numpty about what to ask.. Can someone help, please?

Don't worry too much about that side of things...
If your eMachines (Dixons/Currys/PCWorld own Brand) PC has WinXP on
it (which it does) & if it's got USB Sockets on it (which it has)
then it will work with virtually any Scanner & Camera that you can
buy now.

Many Scanners & Cameras will work directly with windoze own built-in
Picture stuff (so you don't even need to Install any fancy Drivers
& Software for them - you just Plug them in & windoze Installs its
own Drivers for them & then you use windoze own built-in stuff to
"Acquire" the Pics, or use windoze Explorer to just Drag & Drop the
Pics) & for the ones that don't, then they will come with the required
Drivers & Software.

Canon Scanners are inexpensive & work well.
But other makes, such as Epson & HP (Hewlett Packard) are also good.
