Frogman...
Just a few for you today,

1535 - 1st full English translation of the Bible printed in
Switzerland.

1824 - Mexico becomes a republic.

1910 - Portugal becomes a republic, King Manuel II flees to England.

1921 - League of Nations refuses to assist starving Russians.

1957 - Sputnik satellite blasts into space,
A Russian satellite has been launched into space - the first man-made
object ever to leave the Earth's atmosphere.

Frederick Williams...
Not true: many man-made objects had been submerged in water or buried
under ground before 1957. Has it ever occurred to you to read what you
post before you post it?

Frederick Williams...
Your op says "... leave the Earth's atmosphere" it doesn't mention
"contained within". "Leave" means "depart from" not "get outside of".

1958 - Transatlantic commercial jet passenger service began (BOAC).

1959 - USSR Luna 3 sent back 1st photos of Moon's far side.

1969 - UN starts issuing postage stamps at Geneva headquarters.

1976 - New train speeds into service,
British Rail begins its new 125mph Intercity 'High Speed Train' service
today.

Frederick Williams...
This makes no sense, 1976 isn't a day. (One might remark that the
conjunction of 'British Rail' and 'High Speed Train' makes no sense
either.)

Frogman...
Frederick Williams,
If you don't have anything intelligent to say then do NOT BOTHER
READING MY POSTS.
If you had any intelligence at all you would realise the Subject of
these posts is "4th October in History" so from that deduce that on the
4th October 1976 a New train speeds into service,
British Rail begins its new 125mph Intercity 'High Speed Train' service
today*.

*today being 4th October 1976

Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...
I think our Freddy is having one of his *off* days Froggie. :)

Frederick Williams...
If we had:

4th October in History
:
:
On this day in 1976 ...
:
:

It would make sense. Your version (copied unthinkingly) doesn't.

1992 El Al jumbo crashes in Amsterdam,
An Israeli Boeing 747 cargo plane crashes in the outskirts of Amsterdam
killing dozens of people.
