Jeff Gaines...
I think this theory about things happening in three's is wrong, so far I
have:

1) Jumpered the CD incorrectly, stopping the Hard Drive and the CD from
working.
2) Connected the floppy cable back to front which meant it was on all the
time.
3) Connected he power LED back to front.
4) Connected the HD LED back to front.
5) Connected the SATA drives to the wrong connectors.

I suppose I'll be OK once I discover what 6 is going to be, as long as
it's not an explosion :-)

I've been down-loading driver updates at 464 things a second - fastest
speed since I was Maxed (sorry FN!).

John the R-T...
What was that speed again? :-)

Jeff Gaines...
Much too technical for me, pretty fast though :-)

Going to have a cuppa' and read the manual now.

Old Grizzly...
will we get a final spec ? ;-)

Jeff Gaines...
It's an Intel D975BX (BadAxe) main board, an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 and 2
GB DDR2 memory.
The rest of it I already had (case, PSU, 6600GT PCI-e graphics, hard
drives etc.).

I still have one device with a yellow blob that I can't identify so far,
still trying :-)

datasmog...
That'll be the remains of that fried egg you had for breakfast.

JoeH...
What info do you have on that Jeff?

Jeff Gaines...
Absolutely zilch, XP isn't very helpful in that respect! I'm sure pmj can
recommend something that would identify it :-)

I re-loaded the BIOS defaults and now it's gone - trouble is I don't know
why and I wouldn't mind knowing what it was, I'm getting tired I'd better
stop playing.

JoeH...
It might have been an piece of on-board hardware which re-loading the
settings has set to "Off" when before it was "On" or "Auto"

The usual suspects are Modem, Video, Sound and Network but I guess you had
those covered. Good luck.

I'll keep fiddling for a couple of days and get to know it's quirks before
I put any apps on.
