Well it was a long night.
Aries...

I hope he settles down and behaves like a normal dog for you soon Russell.
Can you all go out and leave him? That's something we couldn't do with our
Tyke...

We can leave him as we have a large laundry that is completley tiled where
he cannot damage anything. We are going out for a few hours later so we she
see :-)
That's something we

Tessa. She had such an anxiety complex that she did anything she could,
including destroying part of our kitchen door, to get out and find us
during the two hours we were away at church. So our daughter now has her
on her farm and she is very happy there with 4 other dogs and training to
be a good working dog. My daughter tells me she is a quick learner and
very keen too. So I am now much happier as at the time I felt I had

I'm glad to hear Tessa is doing well :-)
Looks like it was all for the best!!

That really is great Val. Am so glad she has found her place.

Oh so am I - I feel much more relaxed about it now :)

We thought Billy was a silent dog until 2.am,3.am,3.30am,5.am and so on.
Boy did he howl!!!!

Oh dear :-( We had all sorts of problems with Ben to start with but that
wasn't one of them - good as gold at night - every night. Billy will get

Fingers crossed!!
Is Ben settled now???

better I'm sure.

He slept (ish) in the laundry last night.Billy is not toilet trained at the
moment.
He normally slept on his own so it must be the change of surroundings.

Good morning Russell, lovely photos. I am sorry you have had a bad night
with Billy
perhaps he is missing the female. We did similar to you many years ago and
had a Poodle
that had been a stud dog who we also found had not been house trained and
was very nervous and I am afraid the owners had to have him back. I hope you
are luckier Russell perhaps your two dogs may teach him how to go on. Sorry,
but I had to be honest with you Russell.

Morning Jackie :-)
I appreciate your honest input Jackie.
I know it will be an uphill struggle but there is a lovely dog in there
somewhere ;-)
|
|
He was very glad to see us this morning :-)
Billy is a *very* nervous dog and will need lots of love and patience.
He is good with our two "boys" but very scared of any handling.
I constantly have little dog treats with me as Billy responds to food well.
Tyke...
|
That is the big issue with him,Mrs Tyke is very houseproud. She is very
understanding though.
The sofa have now a plastic cover around them - everything else is washable
;-)

If I see no improvememt over the next few weeks there is a good behaviourist
locally. I'd rather try myself for now but cost is not an issue.
I'd rather leave the tranqs alone.Honey in Puppy milk is supposed to have a
calmative effect.
|
Tyke...
I took him out on the lead but he just does not behave like a normal dog.
Jamps............................I'd love any tips on how to help him out of
his nervousness.
It was *really* hard to choose just one dog, but we realised that Billy
would needs lots of attention - having both was have been an impossible
task.
We have told the breeders that if they cannot place the girl into a good
home we will talk in a few weeks when Billy has settled.
The girl is a Liver colour - fairly unusual.
Here are some piccies I've put into a set.
Rabbit...
|
Oh he's cute but such a sad face.It must be hard for him to settle into a
completely different environment but I'm sure with love he'll get there and
your other two boys should help once they all establish their place in the
Tyke...
|
I really feel as if we did rescue him.
It needs a "Bedlington person" to understand him and what he should be like.
I'm determined to give him a good life - and fatten him up!!
Rabbit...
|
I thought he looked thin but I wasn't sure if he was meant to be as thin or
if it was his haircut making him look thin.
|
I've just fed him and never seen a dog eat as fast!
Glad you have offered if needed to take the
|
pack. Glad you have offered if needed to take the female,I was feeling sorry
for her. 'Sides have you thought that being a she it's what you need to keep
the males in their place ;-)
Tyke...
|
We will keep in touch about the girl.
It might w*rk out well that we can get Billy settled then think of her if
she is not rehomed.
Rabbit...
Billy was the worst of the two so I felt I had to take him but that meant I
was unsure about taking two.
Talk about gut-wrenching decicions!!
Rabbit...
|
Yes that's how I got my last dog. It was the choice of two when the girl put
a bowl of food down. Only one got to the food and ate it all, I took the
other one :-)
|
I was also a bit worried about taking the girl first as female doggies can
be rather bossy with other dogs (heard something similar to this somewhere)
Rabbit...
|
Yes, well it's the pack instinct. All pack males need a female in charge ;-)
|
;-)

Troy's Human...
|
Thanks everso for those Russell. Billy looks lovely :-) Give him a big
cuddle from me :-)
Tyke...
|
When I can get near him ;-)

|
Have a Good Friday :-)

Oh he's lovely Russell. He'll soon settle in and appreciate such a lovely,
caring family.
I've e-mailed you!

Thank's for the piccs Russell i think you are brave taking on another dog
;-) as it is not potty trained too
but he is cute and do hope he settles down. It is natural for him to howl he
will be missing his surroundings, but it looks like the "boys" will soon
whip him into shape;-))))
