Following the success in identifying the Piaggio via this group, can
anyone help me to identify the green military-looking aircraft at LHR.

pmj...
Yep.
Turn on the various "web-search Earth Community" Layers (in the Layer
Folders on the Left) of the web-search Earth Application & you will see
a whole load of various different Placemarks show up, as Posted by
people in the BBS.Keyhole.com Forums they will tell you what it is.

It is visible to the right of the north east east end of the taxiway
linking the two main runways and is clearly visible on the web-search Earth

pmj...
I think you prolly mean 51 Deg 28 Min... *N* & 0 Deg 25 Min... W,
rather than *W* & W?
:-)

Also, specifying the Location as Degrees & Decimals, (rather than
as Degrees, Minutes, Seconds & 1/100ths) makes it much easier to
Pinpoint & locate stuff, both in the web-search Earth Application & also
in web-search Maps...

You can Set the Options in web-search Earth (on the View Tab, in the
Rendering Section) to show Degrees & Deciamls

So the Location of that Plane at Heathrow is...

-0.433300
51.471860

& a web-search Maps URl for it is...

The web-search Maps Satellite Pics of that area aren't as High Resolution
as the ones in the web-search Earth Application, but that URL shows the
location of it OK & you can bung in the Co-ordinates into web-search Earth
to show it. (or download the .kmz Shortcut/Description File for it
- see below)

Ponder...
It's sort of similar to an F4 Phantom but it's misproportioned, maybe
it's a perspective thing. BTW, that's not a taxiway, it's runway 23 ;)

& there's another one at Luton Airport...

or...

& no doubt there are a load more at various other Airports, as well.

picture of LHR position 51=B028'18.50"W; 0=B025'67"W? It's obviously
pretty big (note the adjacent large airliners) but I have no idea what
it is or why it's there?
Thanks for any help in this niggling query!

pmj...
According to the various Placemarks for it that show up, (when they
are Enabled), it's a Fire Training Jet?

& that is explained (along with more Pics of it) in the
BBS.Keyhole.com Forums...
& here is the original Post about it...

& here's the .kmz Shortcut/Description File for it...
