Epson Stylus Color 600 Printer

This printer came with my original Tiny pooter back in 1998. No complaints
except occasionally some print head jets got clogged a couple of years ago.
Anyhow a cleaning cartridge from CartridgeCo.co.uk sorted that out. At the
time the cartridge could only be used once and the cleaning fluid was clear
and uncoloured so it was very difficult to see a nozzle pattern to see if
the cleaning process had w*rked. Anyhow last week I first lost all
printing of magenta heads then yellow and cyan. A new cleaning cartridge
has sorted that out fine. The new cartridge is re-sealable and hence
re-usable (10 times and for up to 6 months after 1st use they quote) and the
cleaning fluid is tinted magenta, yellow and cyan for the relevant jets.
Just thought anyone with an inkjet printer that has an integral print head
may find the knowledge that such things are available useful. OK they are
pricey (£13-99) but certainly cheaper and less long winded than dismantling
the printer or buying a new one.

Yep, Dell had one a few months ago and PC World had one too. The only
drawback was that they are both Lexmark ( Dell rebadged theirs) so
replacement cartridges would have been expensive in the long run.

Is the Stylus 600?

It was whan it was introduced, but then resolutions have improved so much
since then that what people now accept has changed considerably. I was
quite happy with the photo prints i was producing compared to those I used
to get from 36mm cameras.

Bought one the same time as you but junked it a month ago.

Comparing it to my washed out 600
more reliable printouts - half my 600 printouts
had to be binned because of banding.

Not had that problem yet - but then I don't use it that much.

That is something I only missed on a couple of occasions, though.

I suppose it's horses for courses - the 600 seems fine for what I need it
for.
