Don't know why, but I never listened to any of those programmes when I was
a young boy. Spent most of my time tuned to what was then called the
"Trawler Wave Band". I learnt lots of new words on there

Exactly! Never happier than when I was involved with boats. A right little
pier rat I was. The Harbour Master told me that so it must be true

I was allowed to listen to him and Dick Barton when I was a child. I would
have my ear pressed right against the radiogram as we had to have the sound
low as we lived in a flat at the time LOL
linedancer...
|
We had a radiogram too Val, it was a great big one with a heavy lid, or
maybe it just seemed so to me as a small child, I used to think my dad was
really tall and I think he was only about 5'6 or so LOL
I remember playing in the garden in summer and hearing the Dick Barton music
and tearing inside to listen to it, then I had to get ready for bed, wonder
what time it was on, I seem to think it was 6:15 every night.
Aries...
|
Must have been around that time or a little later - I also used to listen
to In Town Tonight, and children's hour with Larry the Lamb - Baa, or
should I say Bah LOL
