First the bad news. The test on the first drops out of my finger were
borderline so I had a more detailed test with the needle in the vein -
except they couldn't get any blood out of it. Ouch!! And all that AFTER
answering a third degree about past operations, transfusions etc.
Next the good news. Apparently that registers me as a "Triple Zero" ie
unable to give a sample, so I can try again in a few weeks.
Michaelangelo...
|
Maybe you should seek assistance from Bram. I'm sure he could help you
get a sample!
Splodge...
|
He wouldn't dare touch me.
Oh, I don't know though........lol

Frederick Williams...

When you do so, ask them if the blood transfusion service sells abroad
the blood that people like you (try to) give freely. The answer might
surprise you, unless it's "I don't know anything about that."
|
The even gooder news is I've been told dark chocolate has gotta lotta iron
in it, so I could dispense with all the liver and baked beans in future and
Barb...
|
Now that is good news as that is the only sort of chocolate that I really
like
|
just eat dark choccie.

Oh! Bu***r all that cholesterol then. :(

Jeff Gaines...

Are you being completely honest about this :-)
If so I'm off to the sweet shop!
Splodge...
|
Yep, it was one of the nurse-type vultures that told me this afternoon.

|
The even betterer news is I've bought a Bounty bar, a Cadburys Flake and a
bar of whole nut choccie.
Barb...
|
Erm are flakes dark chocolate?
Flyiñg Ñuñ 2°°6 +...

*DARK* chocolate.
That's the red-wrapped Bounty but I've not met Cadbury's Flake in plain
(dark) choccie, have you?
And did you remember to choose whole nuts in dark choccie? Do Cadbury's do
Bournville whole nut?
Ooo, you've got to be careful here, Splodge!
8-))
Splodge...
|
Ooops, sorry, it was all milk choccie. This was for cheering up purposes
only Pam LOL
Pam the goose...
|
Tut tut!!
Now if it was me I'd need no excuse, I love dark chocolate.
I could eat a big bar of Bournville in a few mouthfuls!
The more expensive dark chocolate I can sit and savour, I do so love it:)
Get a taste for it if the Dr says it'll do you good:)))

Good news on the choccie front then ;-)
Triple Zero is the emergency number here in Oz instead of 999,do I get a
Rabbit...
|
There's also the EU 112 emergency number here now. So far it's not mandatory
in the UK but it does jbex if dialled.
Splodge...
|
I saw a leaflet today and I thought it was 101 for the non-999 calls
Perhaps they both work lol
Rabbit...
|
101 is different and only applies in certain areas ATM
pmj...

& bear in mind that *neither* (none) of them work when using
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) for the Phone Call, since
(by it's very nature) a VoIP Call can be initiated from anywhere
in the World, so it's a bit (well, a *lot*!) pointless, trying
to Dial 999 (or 112 or 101 or whatever) from a VoIP Phone & expect
to be able to get any Local Emergency Service.
All VoIP Services have to specifically draw attention to that
limitation, when they are being Promoted & when you Sign up for them.
They aren't (yet) a complete replacement for an ordinary POTS (Plain
Old Telephone System) LandLine (or Mobil) Phone.
