Genesis

Plans are underway for a reunion tour and possible new material/album from
Genesis. Peter Gabriel has announced that he will NOT be joining the party,
still remember the 'real' Genesis - Selling England By The Pound, Lamb Lies
Down on Broadway, (my fav album of ALL time - Carpet Crawlers, fav track),
Trick of the Tail, Foxtrot etc., etc.

The Lamb Lies Down has to be my favourite. I remember when it got damaged.
I was so upset. Took my turntable down to a shop to have a new stylus put
in.
He tested it by playing "Hello I must be going!!" arggghhh!!!

There are some bands of 'our' generation that should get back and some bands
that should NOT - Genesis, in my opinion are in the 'should not' group.

Any thoughts ?

Seen their last reunion at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 82

It was open air and it chucked it down but it was great.

Pour moi, think late 60's.....
Lots of Irish Rebel folk around in those days, material I'd not be
prepared to sing anywhere now, not even on an upss karaoke-night :-)

In the late 70's, SWMBO & myself were audience regulars on country
Meets Folk, hosted by Wally Whyton (?) & recorded in Broadcasting
House.

I last saw Genesis live at Bedford football club's stadium, in 'the old days
when Genesis were at their best and Bedford football was also at it's best -
Sadly both are now well past it, (although Bedford FC are rising from the
ashes again, (despite a 5-0 loss today !!!)).

Genesis without Gabriel is like fish without chips .......

Young Faust who is 15 is a great fan of Gabriel era Genesis and puts his mp3
player on in disgust if I put on "Trick of the Tail" or "Wind and Wuthering"
