This will make Joe laugh, and I will let him tell you why.
JoeH...

Do I tell the *whole* story? LOL
Foxy at w*rk...
|
lol As long as I don't get the credit/blame ;-)

Let's see how it goes then.
We got back to Jen's on Saturday night around 9:30 and put the TV on. There
was a "Booze Britain" type show on SKY and it seemed somewhat appropriate
to watch it ;-) Anyway, we got nattering and drinking tea (Yes TEA) during
which time the booze program ended and one of those rip-off quiz shows
came on. The question/category was "Films beggining with H" so we had a few
guesses and listened to a few mugs wasting their 75p to guess
(unsuccessfully) on air. Getting bored with that we flicked to some music
channel and watched that for a while (while still thinking of "H" films).
After an hour or so we went back to the "quiz" channel and none of the
tweleve answers they were looking for had been guessed. Listened to more
mugs wasting money whilst having a few guesses of our own. We watched for
another hour during which there was many a gap where mugs, sorry callers,
were not getting through to the studio. *(Can you see where we're going
here?)*
Do I need to continue? LOL
Foxy at w*rk...

lol Mug's you say lol
Some people might just make a call to make a point I would think rofl
|
|
|
|
How many films can you think of, where the title begins with a letter H
Foxy at w*rk...
|
My/Our list was
High Planes Drifter
pantomonium...
|
LOL, is that about someone who wanders from aircraft to aircraft at 30,000
feet?
|
Half a Sixpence
High Noon
Hunch Back of N******* (Can't Spell it)
can't remember the rest
Michaelangelo...
|
It's no wonder nobody phoning in to the quiz show was getting them. The
Suvverners (south east anyway0) would have been really struggling 'cos
all the films get re-named for them. Now if the question had been
'films beginning with vowels' they would have been getting them like
mad -
'igh Planes Drifter
'alf a Sixpence
'igh Noon
'unchback of Notre Dame (Actually I think that's a 'T' - The 'unchback
of Notre Dame)
OTE
('ope this 'elps)

Michaelangelo...
|
Eh? Cheat! :)
Baldrick...
|
All film titles listed anywhere in alphabetical order should always drop the
leading 'the'.
Michaelangelo...
|
Not at all. Only for the purposes of books like Halliwells so you dont
have to wade through thirty million titles under 'T' to find what
you're after. If the title begins with 'the' then the title begins with
'the'. In a quiz looking for titles beginning with 'H' 'The Hustler'
would have been disqualified.

|
JoeH...
|
Well done Baldrick, most of all for guessing those in alphabetical order.
;-)
Michaelangelo...
|
Shouldn't that be 'halphabetical horder'?
JoeH...
|
Hof course, 'ow remiss hof me. ;-)

A one mentioned in the papers the other week was "Items in a ladies

Rabbit...
|
OK I've got a screw [1] in mine but no Rawlplugs.
[1] It was genuine so that I got the right size. Trouble is I can't now
remember what I wanted it for :-)

"begins with" *not* "only contains"
Rabbit...

They begin with H, end with H and have H in the middle so they must be right
:-)
JoeH...
|
You could have something there ;-)
|
Anyway just get on with the story/gossip/scandal about the question ;-)
Foxy at w*rk...
