I am an occasional visitor to this N/G and have often been helped on
technical problems thank you .I think I can assume that there are amongst
you elderly members that have mobility problems and live alone or in
sheltered accommodation like myself , with the need of a resident warden.I
have been told from carers that I know and from paramedics , that the
ambulance service is considering refusing to lift anyone that they have been
called out to in there home or sheltered accommodation ,that is in there
opinion not injured, and that they will leave them there and not lift
them.!!....If you think that this is a load of Tosh ,please go to
uk.community.ambulance and see the heated discussions going on between some
ambulance personnel for and against this idea. There is about13 postings so
far, it may take some time going through them all . If I knew how to
transfer them over to this N/G I would have done it .But this is a
situation that may affect us all at some in the future...cas

I live in Warden Assisted Accommodation and our Wardens are often called
to help residents who have fallen
but the Warden has to call the ambulance to help as he is not allowed to
pick anyone up on his own!!
