If you're really that bored ;)

pmj...
Well, you don't *have* to be "bored", to want to have a go at something
like that!!!
:-)

I find half(?) the fun(?) of that sort of thing is first of all,
trying to recognise what type of Encoding has been used (since there's
nothing in the way of "Headers" to say what Encoding is in use, which
is the normal way things like that are specified...

Once you've twigged that it's just Hexadecimal Codes for each ASCII
Character, then there are various ways to Convert it back to normal
ASCII.

The first way I did it was to just Replace each Space Character between
each pair of Hexadecimal Characters (using a simple Text Editor, such as
Notepad) & then use the standard JScript Function "unescape('string')"
to Convert it back.

& with that 2nd one, I tried a different way.

I replaced each Space Character with an "Equals" (=) Character & then
treated it as Quoted-Printable Encoding...

I just Added a Blank Line above it & then a "Header" Line...

Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

So I got this...

Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

=44=6F=6E=27=74=20=79=6F=75=20=6C=6F=76
=65=20=61=20=6D=61=74=68=73=20=63=68=61
=6C=6C=65=6E=67=65=20=61=74=20=74=68=69
=73=20=74=69=6D=65=20=6F=66=20=6E=69=67
=68=74=3F=0D=0A=0D=0A=4E=6F=74=2C=20=6A
=75=73=74=20=66=69=6E=69=73=68=65=64=20
=64=6F=69=6E=67=20=62=69=6E=61=72=79=20
=63=6F=6E=76=65=72=73=69=6F=6E=73=20=66
=6F=72=20=43=6C=61=73=73=20=41=20=61=6E
=64=20=43=6C=61=73=73=20=42=20=6E=65=74
=77=6F=72=6B=73=20=61=6E=64=20=53=75=62
=6E=65=74=20=6D=61=73=6B=73=2E=00

Then I Saved it as a Text File, but with a File Extension of .EML,
so that windoze treats it as an eMail Message File.
When you Open it, OE Automatically Converts the Quoted-Printable
Encoding back to normal ASCII Characters, so I get this...

pmj...
Do I get a prize for Translating/Converting that?
:-)

I reckon it says...

Just for BoyPete :-)

& the "Subject: " Header of the Post says...

I hate christmas

I have a nifty little JScript "Bookmarklet" thingy taht I wrote,
which converts those sort of Hexadecimal Characters back into normal
ASCII Text.

Faolan...
I just got the pen and paper out, more fun that way... Especially as I
have been crunching numbers for Class A, B and C IPs and subnet masks
for most of the night. Add to trying to understand CIDR my head is
starting to hurt!

Fun though, I much prefer binary though makes peoples eyes go watery ;)

Now you're just getting silly!!!
:-)

If you think I'm going to get involved in Translating Morse Code,
then you're wrong!!!

& no, I won't be bothering to Translate it if you Send it in Semaphore,
either!!!
:-)

Ali...
PSPad has a morse code translator built in (along with other, more useful,
converters). I translates TH's body text to

WELL I DON' T KNOW IT ALL
-4 IN FACT I KNOW NOTHING
: -4)T
MORNINGTON CRESCENT -4 I
WIN : -4)T

Obviously it's in code (as well as the Morse cypher)

Tickettyboo...
HUH! That's easy for you to say!
