Welcome back Seadancer
Pleased to hear that you had such a great holiday
Lovely pictures. I like the sunset, not so sure about the pink hotel

Thank you, Barb.
I loved the pink hotel. After having 4 sons and no daughters, pink has
always been a special color for me. I like anything pink. (g) Now I finally
have 2 granddaughters. You can imagine how special they are to me. I went
out on a doll-buying spree after they were born. What fun that was.

The weather was sunny and warm...
... after a windy and chilly period on the first day we arrived.
There's nothing like a warm, sandy beach for relaxing or taking a walk.

Lovely white sandy beach at Clearwater and AFAIK it's the only town in USA
with a roundabout on the road, at least it was a few years ago.

There's actually one in Lincoln square, Gettysburg, PA. I don't know when it
was put there but I drove round it a few times in March 2003.

Hello Paddyjoe, and welcome. I don't think I have seen you post before

Hello Jen,
I posted a few times a year or two ago but my PC broke down and
I didn't bother for long enough to replace it. When I do post it's mainly in
.talk. :-)

I uploaded 8 of my Florida pics to Wunderphotos.
I wrote captions for each one.
You can see them at the following URL:

Nice. I had friends who lived in Weeki Wachee, not the park ( they weren't
mermaids :-) ) the town but I've never been to the park. Now you need to go
back to Florida and try some other areas.

Thank you, Sandra.Yes, I hope to go back to Florida again.

Hi to Paddyjoe and thanks to Sandra for the link to the roundabout
website. A few months ago I saw a TV show which told about the
differences between roundabouts and ordinary traffic circles. Interesting.
Do you have many roundabouts in the UK?
Jeff Gaines...
|
If you ever come over you must visit Basingstoke :-)
Have you any treble roundabouts in the USA? If not that could be
another treat for you!
~~seadancer~~...
|
I guess Basingstoke must have roundabouts, eh?
I've never heard of treble roundabouts.
In fact, I've had very little experience with roundabouts of any kind.
But they're talking about putting one in near here.
In fact there's a local debate going on about it.
Seems to be the latest thing.
I'm wondering how effective they are.

I do remember the roundabout we travelled on to get to Clearwater Beach.
The causeways over the water there are beautiful to travel on.
Such gorgeous panoramic views! I was thrilled with the views as we
approached Clearwater Beach on the bus.
|
There's another tour this month to Daytona, FL, but my husband
doesn't want to be left alone again so soon after the Clearwater trip.
I guess I can't blame him.
The Mermaid show was amazing. You sit in a theater and look
through a huge glass wall to see the mermaids under water,
very deep water too. They breathe by taking in air through air tubes
which they put into their mouths periodically. They drop the air tubes
when they do their routines and the air tubes float nearby.

Click on the thumbnails below my first big pic, which is a lovely sunset.
The Pink Palace is something to see!

Good to see you back safe and sound :-)
By the looks of the pictures you had a great time

Thanks, Jen.
Yes, thank goodness it was a safe trip.
We had a great bus driver. That means a lot.
I guess I didn't mention that it was a bus tour.
We had a lot of fun on the bus too (movies, games, etc.)
Everyone gets to feel like one big family.
There were only 21 people on the tour.
So there was plenty of extra room on the bus for our packages
and extra "stuff". We didn't have to share seats either.
So we were able to stretch out or curl up comfortably.
Good memories all around.
